wherever you are,
be the spirit of Buddha
—protect those in need

give comfort to those
who are candles to your soul,
and you are their light

free those in anguish
from past year of suffering,
—you will walk the path
4
be this in your time,
as smooth pebbles on the shore
we too are the waves
5
accept these pebbles
for creatures that run, swim, fly
—they carry you too
6
the earth will thank you
for the plants & trees you save,
with the air we breathe
7
pray for the climate,
so we may know fish & crops
thrive in streams & fields
8
while shadows linger,
be the seagull's lonely cry
to the thunder's drum
9
follow your soulmate
with your footsteps by his own,
from death to rebirth
Resolution to Love
My resolution for this year
Is to love you more my dear
Let me shout it loud and clear
Let me draw you ever near
Together we need never fear
The judgement in the eyes that peer
The ones that see our lives as queer
This year you’ll need not shed a tear
For my resolve to be right here
Survives the dying of the year
This I swear to you my dear
My love for you could never veer.

This New Year and Going Forward
This New Year and going forward,
I want to be more like my father,
Have a more outgoing happy personality,
Take more risks to reap the rewards,
Still knowing my limits with rationality.
This New Year and going forward,
I’d like to be more like my mother,
Organized and be more disciplined,
Achieve what I want to accomplish,
And not get into awkward predicaments.
This New Year and going forward,
I’d also like to be a little like my grandmother,
Brave and courageous with that bit of luck,
Always loving and caring, fearless and daring,
Because when she was young she was savage as…
But this New Year and going forward,
I will strive to find the balance in my life,
Work on a master plan every single day,
Because life is precious and unpredictable,
So I will not let the time waste away.
This New Year and going forward,
I want to be more like my father,

With 2019 just around the corner I resolve to be loving myself
And be selfish because my love for others is on the high shelf,
Just out of reach. I resolve to be kind to my mind, body and
Gentle soul. I resolve to be patient because I fully understand
That time is precious. I resolve to live every day to the fullest
With sunshine and laughter. I resolve to never let the dullest
Of moments fade away into nothingness. I resolve to let all
The bad memories go and to hang onto the good ones. I fall
But then to get back up and keep going. Life is a battlefield
And I resolve to walk through the fire. I resolve to be healed.
