99% SURE THE SUN WILL COME UP IN THE MORNING

So come the night
Turn off the projections

Hold off the inevitable
Another day

So come the night
Render us equal

Soft in repose
Take us away

Another Day Closer

What is going on in that messy, but beautiful head of yours?
I just hope that you know you have so many days and years
Ahead of you. Rest your soul and ease your mind. You will
Live to see another morning and a beautiful sunrise. A thrill
That runs through your veins will never diminish and fade
Into the background like a forgotten memory. You weighed
An option to run away, but you have people who care about
You a lot. Just know you have come back from the drought
And you cannot let old insecurities take you back to a place
Where you did not belong. So you can always follow or trace
Every scar where you once tried to take your own life, but
That memory feels like a lifetime ago. You know in your gut
That you are one more day away from being stronger and
Another day removed from being the girl who used to stand
In your shoes. You are one day away from the woman who
You could become. You know her well because she is in you.

The Hands That Mark Time

The hands on the clock tick non-stop taking away,
Marking endless time mindless of my existence,
And still my soul does not see the light of day,
Will there be glimmer of hope for my resistance?
Here,
Take the memory of me, of pain of love and flee,
Free of guilt and shadows from my hollow heart,
See the pain you’ve caused that goes beyond,
Then tell me how to cope so I won’t fall apart.
Still the clock slowly ticks away into another day,
Without care or caution thrown into the wind,
My happiness dangles loose from your noose,
But still you won’t look back much to my chagrin.
So I just watch the hands on the clock tic toc,
Non-stop until the sun drops and comes up again,
Falling in these black days, through a dark phase,
But my fucking hands won’t stop when I say when.

going on

did your life plan come unhitched
the morning dawns rays promise much
the pills on the table left untouched
the mascara and the blusher brush

to hide the stress of past events
the liteny of gone days discontent
to look ahead and not behind
the acrid taste that love inbibed

your friends say one day at a time
to go on to a lonely night slumberland
the past that claws and leaves deep scars
tommorow cliffs and ropes frayed apart

to scale each day and not to fall
the cracks plastered on your hurt in your soul
elevations of heartache and feel a fool
step into the future with a need to endure
