I rented a room @Dup.com
So I rented a room last week @Dup.com
Did you know it comes with free poetry
and a view.....
My first night at the Inn I ventured
downstairs, hey? did anyone know
Madame Lavender opened a Bar & Grill?
I also hear the good Doc, gives free
medical advice too "/
A few regulars were scattered about
some were having drinks while others
were dancing enjoying the cool menthol stylings of John Feddeler, who was at the piano playing My Way from Sinatra.
So,
I pulled up a stool and knocked back a few Souladareatease,Poetikmind and Xmar82 were discussing and debating their own points of views.
Hashman, Lance, and Sadsmilles were all laughing it up, waved for me to come join
the convo already in progress.
"They' good peeps like that."
Some of my gal pals walked in
not long after I got there
Flowergirl,Crimsin,and Enigma,
and oh yes, ScarlettA came too
Johnrot, came by for a frosty few,
alongside CraicDealer,Roachmill
and Poetspeak,who drank vodka,
"cause he don't like beer "/
I have been up for almost 1 1/2 weeks
with less than 1 hour or two a day worth of sleep, I am as manic as an Eskimo with a heater. I have acute insomnia since I checked in last Monday. I am as Bipolar as Bananas in Pajamas and that stupid fucking purple dinosaur.
DUP,
I raise my cup,
please take a bow
best insomnia Hotel around.
Note: This was spawned from my insomnia
and the inspiration is from Madame Lavender who wrote a story about Dup a few years back ")

~zen~
*
soft lavender kissing your skin
as you walk the green forested paths
journeying onward, ever forward
*
no looking back the demons behind you
there are life's markers
to assure you don't circle round
having to learn lessons time and again
*
let the deep waters calm
you've swam in tempest oceans
without drowning, relax now
*
meditate let your third eye ease open
waking to a new day
with wisdom you gathered like seaside shells
*
the tides are gentle now
easing in and out
bringing insight and comfort
let them wash over you cleansing and calming
*
~die to self and be born anew~

I
My list of alphabets stop at H
and continues from J
see for yourself,
write a poem
without that
discarded
letter!
No!
my hatred
is not directed
towards my own self,
rather, at my focus
on my own being
on my own existence
on my own super-significance of self!
So go ahead and write
or at least attempt
to write a poem
without using
that one
letter,
word!

Version 2: Same poem in the literal sense i.e. without using the letter I
My set of alphabet stops at H
and goes ahead from J
see for own yourself,
pen down a poem
that excludes
that one
letter!
No!
my hatred
not targeted
at my own self,
rather towards my
focus on my own extant self
my own super-remarkableness!
So go ahead and jot down
or at least attempt to
pen down a poem
sans that one
letter
word!

Intangible Existence (Unfolding)
Slowly; uncannily
I see it unfold
and then,
I see it give rise
to itself.
It hovers and spins,
It twirls, entwining
the space it inhabits.
Watching, it holds
To itself what it
knows, to a circle
lets go,
to meaning and you,
from the earth
to and fro.
Are we here,
do we know?
Tell me when I
reach you;
only then will I know
I exist.
I see it unfold
and then,
I see it give rise
to itself.
It hovers and spins,
It twirls, entwining
the space it inhabits.
Watching, it holds
To itself what it
knows, to a circle
lets go,
to meaning and you,
from the earth
to and fro.
Are we here,
do we know?
Tell me when I
reach you;
only then will I know
I exist.

The Wind
An Anthem for the Rebels
Sing with me now, Son
words relayed through generations
Hear it from your Elder's tongue
Fair rulers have come and gone;
still the poor struggle
with little to live on
Until our war is won
keep this song in your heart sung
"The wind slowly wears you down
makes you doubt a friend
Without trust, you may give up
Sell your soul in the end
Drained of desires
except to dream no more - No!
Pillars of systemic oppression
erected Millennia ago
The cruel wind blows
with dust of a desolate mind
absent of any Light and Love
feeds the needful with blight
Dove of Peace in flight
was lost in the Great Storm
Embers of Humanity's Fire
we stoke to keep warm
To sing “No one cares about us”
is to not stand a fighting chance
Though some sang, “Don’t give up”
they did nothing but dance
Since we put the "war" in class warfare
the years have come and gone
Sing with us now, but
don't ever dance to this song"
Sing along with me now, Son
but don't you dare
don't you ever dare
dance to this song
*Note | I want to thank Johnny Blaze of DUP for revamping the old poem.

While I'm deeply honored by the Award, unfortunately, as a previous winner I'm ineligible. [insert cry icon]
Please keep in mind that the winners reflected until the first of the month are those who nominated the winning entries, not the winners themselves. The actual winners will be announced July 1st! So stay tuned! [/hearts and stuff]
