Parallel Me
My name was Kate
I remember her well...
A Daughter of originality
She painted the walls of great cathedrals red...
Danced in the fountains of Italy
At only 18 she wound up dead
Dear Kate what a horrible tragedy
The people who loved her
Gave her to a funeral pyre
They remember her young body in flames
Those who just remember me however ....
Call me by this name
I remember her family
And miss their love and affection
My Mother then was beautiful
My Father showered me with attention
My parents now are strangers
I hardly speak to them at all
My Mother bitches at me endlessly
My Father is as boring as he is bald..
So why wouldn't I want to remember Kate
All pretty and effervescent
Splashing up waters in Florence
After painting some church in Venice
Today...this self ...
.....Bored to tears
No social life to mention
Longing for my former years
And all the good attention

red and blue
you changed
i remember
when you were a boy
your music
wound me up then released me
like a dance machine
your smile
dynamite
plastic
explosive
fake
when you caught alight
blue and red flames
[smooth hurricane]
rose like a crown
were the scars
meant for a time processor
a permanent marker
hidden within african roots
when you lost the taste for life
you changed
from red
to blue
to white

Thank you to each entrant. I truly appreciate each piece.
Regardless of position here, opening our minds to new ideas can actually
prevent Alzheimer disease, if it does nothing else for you.
It wasn't an easy decision and I've read and re-read these for deeper clarity,
so as much as I have always loved giving a little nod to my fellow poets,
it always hurts a bit to skip over those that I can't award.
Also, with this many entrants I usually only award a 1st place, no runners up
but in cases where 2 or 3 are battling in my head for the win, I will add runners up.
I don't want to take anything away from those not mentioned though,
just the way it has to be.
So, for first Diddi
your simulation theory is a hot topic in Science presently and a theory shared by
some of the top Physicists. It seems that when any particle on the planet is magnified
at the highest point of magnification, every single thing looks the same.
air, water, fire, earth and all upon it , I find that quite fascinating.
and Fizzle and Case were the two others that kept me thinking..
I believe Mr. Case is referencing Coke? I can't recall either way on that one but I love how you tpook one element of it and made it so subtly poetic.
and Tfizzle,
he Bernstein Bears is still what comes up on the UK spell check..helluva residual, no?
Also, I had the books and we argued over pronouncing as Stein like the German Beer mug or Stein like
Steen..if it were Stain the argument is moot. I donated the books, sadly.
so, that's all.
from me.

Thank you so much Miki I appreciate this and I completely agree about how fascinating it is and how much we don't know , this is just (as you well know) a scratch upon an atom within the vastness of alpha centauri in relation to the knowledge we are somewhat aware of . Well done Fizzle and Case also
.P.S. Miki I hope that the (in my opinion) lack of entrants on this brilliant topic doesn't prohibit you in any way from further hosting this kind of competition as I wish I'd thought of it ha ha

Hey, Paul
agreed, we know so little. Physics lately makes Sci-Fi and conspiracy theory look like 1980's Dr.Who props.
Reality is the most shocking and intensely interesting thing I could ever dream up. and thanks for your support
who knows the future, eh?

Thanks heaps, miki, for another intriguing and inspiring challenge. Even though I was reading up on the Mandella Effect all week, I literally had no idea what I was going write about until a couple hours before the comp closed. It turned out to be one of those under the pump writes during my lunch break... and to answer your question, it was the Mandella effect of interchanging red and blue of the Pepsi logo.
I thought all the entries were cool with the poets coming from interesting angles on the subject, I particularly liked UbiquitousVoid perspective suggesting the scientifically proven forgetful mind. Congratulations to diddi and fizzle for your excellent entries and thanks miki for the nod.

Mr.Case, thanks for doing the legwork. I found the whole thing fascinating too. Especially from a Physics perspective.
Pepsi crossed my mind , but then CarpeNoctem said he thought it was the Ford Logo so I gave up. lol I took the smile line to heart, don't know about Oz but in USA it was "grab a coke and a smile". I was closer than him anyhow...;)
and I agree on the piece by UbiquitousVoid, a very interesting perspective that I think the Mandela communities do discuss.
I could say something positive about all of them.
I will say I used to drive a Volvo and
I have no memory of it having the male symbol
on the logo..I could have been ignorant to it
more into checking the tires and oil than the logo plates.
I find it more interesting all the ultra feminists
who never noticed neither.
Until next time ;)

I am [>>more than>>] I am
warriors in perpetual warring melancholy
drawing more of the pains from nowhere
lean-cut in piercing angular precisions
nothing more . nothing ever more. no dreamy flabbiness
that's blotted to be in swollen comforted zones of sterile dilutions
attracting the queued up endless bouts and bouts
of a ‘vacuum” , a moist-less scantiness, a bleed in-n-out crisis
[pity those complacent lies you showcase in phermonic musks
luring well the wayward eclectic scapegoats and easily cloned
commercial species]
embraces the core , pithy crystalline concentrates
in intuitively lightning geometries and accuracies
the HYPERLOGICAS their pathways ..never ever be sighted
in your shallow swimming radars, if not the remotest
furthermore shimmering possibility of getting decoded
by your turgid escapist egoisms -frothing
abhorrently in fakeness
of an exotic happiness smoothie
happiness is a myth. a lie . an excuse ...a trapster ..a deluding pandemic..
an apocalypse
its here where the wayward souls are irrevocably lost even more
P.S:
1>>inspired by & my own metaphored interpretation of the Deese–Roediger–McDermott paradigm, which I feel each bit to be true to the core….
2>> Miki..I know its too late for the comp entry..but not for a try I hope;)
sorry that i missed ur timelines..I loved the them theme n loving all ur stimulating comps..
Excellent reads above..N congrats to all entries, winners n you!:)
