Thank you
Thank you, my friend
thank you and goodnight
a celebration
a celebration is right
to delight, we've fought and are both right
tonight.

Oh, The Places We Went!
We met like bull moose in rut
sizing up what we were up against
poised to fight
but she talked wide- eyed
like a Dr Seuss poem
beautiful as a sunrise
and wild as the horses on Corolla
toying with the scene
she dropped hints beneath the radar
accustomed to people being ignorantly unaware
giggling gave me away
I was catching the undertow
appreciating the intellect of the supposed enemy
we admitted serendipity
surrendered to fate
and drank together
for years
but never saw him again

Reaping the Whirlwind
CYCLE IV: AIR
With flaming arc on ozone choking breathe,
The torren’ skies of lifely hurricanes’
Erode of Earth and seas’ firm underneath.
So form’ed structures’ fall toss boats insane.
As drowning shards would scuttle all mind’s hope
On desert island strand in madness owned,
Beyond the guardsman’s call and rescue's rope.
With only silent voice, wind’s howl for home.
Yet on the gale, from desolation’s wall,
Came versely words that calmed my broken mind.
A tiger’s cry drove past depression’s squall,
In senryu’s Zen laughter, self unwinds.
Without the mind-storm’s wreak I’d never found
Her poet’s voice, my island’s sacred ground.

In The Most Unlikely Place
I'd given up on life
Peace I couldn't see
Little did I know
That life was driving me
To where I ought to go
With whom I ought to be
I could only see my prison
And my ambitions to be free
So from place to place
I roamed restlessly
In search of answers
But none could appeal to me
It was all an effort
In utter futility
Enough is enough
I'd to end this vanity
So I headed out into the distance
To a place I'll end my life
To end my endless miseries
My worries and my strife
So I reached into my pocket
And brought out the knife
This will send me home
To Miss Death my dark wife
It was so far from the neighbourhood
So far from home
So naturally it was expected
That I'll be all alone
But a voice came out of nowhere
Somewhat muffled and cold
It was a voice of distress
But certainly not my own
So I looked around quickly
Paced to and fro
And then I spotted a figure
Dangling from a tree
With the knife I caught her loose
Free from the noose
She choked a little and then
Tenderly she spoke
"You should have allowed me to end it
Living is of no use
Why go on living
Only to be abused? "
I looked at her and smiled
Of course it was such a shame
I was pretending to be positive
Yet our mission was the same
But I've just found someone to talk to
In that awful wilderness
She too found some succour
To all her countless stress
Our troubles didn't disappear instantly
But we found a reason to live
Hopes can spring from anywhere
All we need is faith and believe
And now we have ourselves
Our suicidal thoughts are gone
Never despair and never depressed
And never again to be alone
So I see a light of hope
Whenever I look at her face
I'd found my most treasured thing
In the most unlikely place
I'd given up on life
Peace I couldn't see
Little did I know
That life was driving me
To where I ought to go
With whom I ought to be
