Poetry Contest Description
An image containing a short poem, for social media.
This competition is to celebrate the launch of DU Poetry on Instagram. The winning poem, and any runners up will be posted on our social media.

(please note: other Instagram accounts using our name are not us)
RULES
- 60 word limit
- Your image must include the full text of your poem
- Don't use photos or artwork which are copyrighted by someone else.
- Ensure the text of the poem is clear and readable.
- You agree by entering to let us post your image on our various social media accounts (Instagram etc.). You will be credited in the caption, you can also include your name or username on the image, if you like.
- Your poem can be about anything
HOW TO ENTER
- Create an image with your poem text. This can be plain, or you can include image(s) or a background as you see fit.
- If it's a new poem, then post it on DU using "submit poem". Attach the image to your poem, selecting the "visual poem" option.
- Post a link to the poem on this thread (I will then edit your post to include the image, along side the link).

Awesome entries so far, I think this will make a great regular monthly competition. A few of the submissions I've found a a bit tricky to read on my phone without zooming in (I don't have the biggest or most recent phone).

Me too. If you let us know which ones, perhaps we could revise and replace? There's nothing worse than straining to read something. It ruins the beauty of the moment in regards to the photograph.

Ahavati, Artemios & MadameLavender - text could be slightly larger and/or a white background on text
calamitygin - the font style on the background makes it hard to read
poetryaccident, OxyMoronicMe & Jade-Pandora - these ones were clear on my phone without zooming
I'm really enjoying this competition, it's unleashing a whole new creative angle. I know we've had the option of visual poems on DU Poetry for a while, but it's not something we've really celebrated properly until now.
