He could try and flirt with me but he'd be outta luck [/quote]
Dead right...if there's flirting with gay women to be done, best it's left to a sailor...

Personally, I think everyone should become better on their own terms, to find their inner skill and expertise from themselves, this is a great idea, but i'd rather make my own path and walk by myself, but hey, this is a great idea.

Every one of us can learn from other poets. There are a handful of poets here that I go to for advice when I need it. I'm definitely a better poet for examining and being inspired by other poets works.

Mentoring is basically the same thing, only with a cool title and a little less equality, because someone is always being looked up to. And people make a bit more effort to help someone out.

I don't feel I would be qualified to mentor anyone, but if someone had questions or felt I could give them a hand up I would not turn it away.
I also have people I tend to feel comfortable enough to go to, but I worry sometimes that I will overwhelm them with "look at me, help me with this", and I just do what I can.
It is nice to be able to put anything out there at all and get any kind of feedback though. I am always looking to grow.

well, that's flattering. [:
i would, but i'm at a crucial junction in RL at the moment and couldn't commit to it yet. maybe after it's all sorted, if that's ok, and if you're still keen for a few tips by then.
and i'm always up for critique and viewpoints anyone has on my writing because even the most inexperienced poets could bring something to light that i hadn't thought of or seen on my own.

I'd mentor Jesta, but I can't find a fucking whip long enough.
