You don’t want this hurt
The wounds, they will run deep
And though they’ll heal you’ll still feel a burn
Knowing you’ve earned every one of them
For every serious loss, for every little feat
When I look at these scars
I remember all the spars
But you, you’ll question your faith and all that you believe
And yet time, for the time being, is on your side
Listen to your gut feeling
Before you leap looking for that reprieve
But I know that won’t be the case
At the moment, your heart is full of passion and lust

List #10 Favorite Quotations
1. "It doesn't matter if you win or lose, it's how many calories you burn playing the game." - Me (probably many others too). I think this to myself when my aim is off on the basketball court.
2. "You sir, are drunk!" "And you madam are ugly. The difference is in the morning I shall be sober." - Sir Winston Churchill. Slay. Major slay.
3. "Have you ever noticed there aren't any rocket scientists named Wendy?"- David Letterman. Made me laugh when he said it as a throwaway line on his show years ago. Not one of my favorite quotes,...

I Choose Me
I choose me. More than anyone in this world.
I finally believe I can be chosen. But I still choose me over fitting into someone's box.
I do believe Josh was a rare connection I had made since he was my twin flame.
I know why I feel the way I do. Because the people who tended to be there for me during my mental illness stuff either only had a soulmate level connection with me or they were very abusive and toxic. I've learned that codependency is NOT love.
Do I love my mentally ill sister? Sure I do. Will I tolerate her toxic behaviors as a result of...

YMCA Holy Man
YMCA Holy Man
His TV blares resurrection blues
With phantoms of the YMCA opera
Words born of my naïveté:
“The suburbs are for the middle class.”
His removal of my anesthesia:
“Everything is for them.
You are doing some thinking on this old world.”
In his face the ghost of Frederick Douglas
An exorcist of cloudy propaganda
“Where would you want to be other than here?”
“In the mountains.”
On a morning like the last judgment
“Don’t you feel pleasure from anything?
Surely your bare feet on the...
