Custard Fury

In a kitchen embraced by warmth,
Air heavy with brewing conflict,
A man, cushioned by indulgence
Flaunts his inflamed visage, crimson-raw with anger.
"Mother," his voice, a narcissistic plea
Echos through the room, demanding obedience,
"This custard's too dense, an egregious flaw!
Lumpy, burdensome, a culinary transgression!"
His mother, a bastion of composure,
Meets his grandiose gaze, unwavering,
Stirring the custard with a practiced hand, ...

You are the type that must always be right
You just refuse to see the other side
Tear down the truth and build up more lies

The Aquarium
Welcome to the aquatic shed
the only way out is through.
Sharpened fins swim overhead,
dinky critters distract below.
Gaze upon fragmented life
where every stroke rehearsed.
The devoted watch with wearied eyes
as each relation is unearthed.
Tempered glass reflecting screens
showing this season’s outtakes.
We mourn behind the scenes
then laugh when the conveyor breaks.
So tunnel under bothered blue
or stand tall on mortal limbs.
If only impulse you can subdue
you can choose to sink or swim.
the only way out is through.

Vast
I look into the vast pale blue sky
With travelling cloud giants passing by.
How small am I?
Crows squawk a foreboding language.
At the often absurdity of simply being human.
Trying to fit large ego's into tiny toned bodies.
Our problems pale as to the fate of the earth.
Denial never felt so good to the masses.
Climb out of your box.
And look around, wide eyed
At beauty's enormity in every species of life.
Give up your false theory
that the world revolves around you.
The world is vast, let's ensure it lasts.
