Please
I can taste the breeze
As i feel the essence
And sweet scents
Of other trees
They speak to me
With a myriad tongues
Ancient underground roots
Of a varied view
All sweep the skies
Of an azure blue
Here i stand
The gnarly old me
I am a friendly gregarious
Funny looking tree
Oft in the shape of a pyramid
My arms reaching out
Across the undulating landscape
As i view entities
With a critical eye
Carrying razor teeth
Distant friends, soon to die
as their sap like blood
Bleeds dry
And...

A Natural Beauty
drifting through the day
I awaken to the sunshine
deeply filled with a sense of appreciation
lilting on the winds with the trees
communicating with their leaves
drowsy little flowers in the flowerbeds smile skyward
and I smile with them
touching the sky with my love
a tiny little soul wandering nature
connected to the earth and vibrating with the dirt
whispering my secrets to an obliging field
the orchard watches on
sentient beings
stoically keeping record of time
today is a beautiful day

what (they call improvement)
rows
and rows
of established
trees
cut down,
animals displaced
from
their homes,
the land
stripped,
life giving
waters drained,
all for
the sake
and benefit
for mankind,
and this
is what
they call
improvement.

Were I a Palm Tree
I see a palm tree
stand tall
arms spread wide
reaching across the sky
fingers waving in the wind.
As I look at the palm tree
I wonder
if it were me
would I be as happy and glee?

Sunset
I sat beneath an Almond tree
by the sea,
and looked at the sun as it set
over the horizon.
The sea,
in its serenity,
beckoned to me.
I closed my eyes
and the magic died.

Embedded in Nature
Forever sequoia as I keep myself wrapped around
Your tree branches. You keep me protected when
I want a break from reality. Without any sounds
You lift me up when I am down. Deep in my skin
You are embedded and remain there. A reminder
To myself that there is simplicity in every breath.
There is simplicity in being much gentler and kinder
To the earth and trees that give us both life and death.

Giving Tree
For countless years, I've stood tall,
Witnessed many moons rise and fall.
Against time's storms, I've held my ground,
Gathering stories, a silent surround.
Beneath my branches, seekers sought shade,
In the sacred land where my roots are laid.
Mankind, a mystery, strange and unique,
Yet, as your needs shift, destruction you seek.
Life courses within, tears quietly flow,
Sadness echoes when fierce winds blow.
Generous offerings, yet one more demand,
Felled to the earth, by the saw's firm hand.

Life of a Tree
Deeply rooted in the womb of
Mother Earth
Branches stretched out to the sky
I connect this planet with the
Spiritual realm
Being a tree I am more awaken
Than I was in my life as a human
Once I was an insecure woman
Full of doubt without self-esteem
Now I live in widening circles and
Trust in nature's cyclical unfolding
Every spring I am reborn
In full bloom
A bride of the man of green
Soon after I give birth to
Sweet summer fruits
Before autumnal storms
Ask me for the death dance
And I let...

Belief, that nature will promote
The forest floor, part shade it lay
sunlight, its glint was, obscured day
alone I stood in wonders gasp
like an ant, I was dwarfed by mass
The monolith that stood before
its breadth and span that rendered awe
and questions came to Google it?
that magesty from just a pip!
For centuries its growth upright
forest fires, its progress could not blight
natives honoured ancient truthes
spirits good, traped within its roots
As its altars towered high
the forever saquoia, sanctifies
a feeling, God...

Forever Sequoia
A witness to Earth's history.
Fire and storm resistant
and caring for the life that inhabits her.
Silent is a wise Sequoia
the oldest tree in the world.
And shares natural wisdom
with whoever listens.
Symbol of immortality and hope
and I say to those who wonder:
forever Sequoia.
Triumphant wood of life
and box of the essence of the world...
blood-sap running red!
A tree forever!
A vision of eternal beauty!
Forever Sequoia!
Fire and storm resistant

Winter awaits her love
Cold, gray skies
trees leafless, not ready to die
gentle breeze rustles limbs
reminding us of summer's whims.
Nothing has ended
snow has only blended
the gray hues together
to form a beautiful nature sweater
to adorn the world in it's mourning
only waiting for spring's lovely morning
to awaken what was asleep
and to finally grant us peace to keep.

Disarray
There is a beauty in this disarray of
winter tree limbs.
Most of us will shudder a somber sigh.
Flung upward
to the indifference of the December sky.
A few will grin at the year's demise.
Bark, nakedly aches to be dressed.
While our yearning pulls at New Years end,
to guess, our next.
My veins in disarray with a core ache to inhabit my soul's winter den.
To detangle the chaotic with tinsel and zen.
To begin is also to end.
