The Third World War / Abandon Earth
THE THIRD WORLD WAR
Though we were, wearily wary, we had already been duped and decoyed
History will say, that our vaunted technology was alien and long deployed
Ensconced in all our nightmares, they were peripheral, benign and vague
Turning from our saviours to our cullers, with fusion power and the plague
How it happened no one knows, they grew in strength like they did before
In our defence it wasn't us, as it was them who started the third world war
Robots, from the ancient world, appeared like metallic monsters from Hell
Decimating allies and...

Virtual Reality: A User Review
I liked it at first. We all did! That level of virtual reality had been a science fiction dream since those Amazing Stories magazines from the 1950s, that my granddad left me when he died. So when the dream turned real and was boxed and sold and brought home one day by my dad, we all clamoured for it. In the beginning it was like how older people describe dial-up internet, only one person at a time could use it, and there was always someone sealed up in that chamber experiencing god knows what. The morals police pushed for and got parental control options, but these were basic at best and...

Come take a trip with me
It'll be fun, you'll see
To a place not too far away,
Well...okay, okay
It's just outside your front door
But before you go,
You should probably know,
This place we're about to explore
Is full of hidden horror.
Yes, I must forewarn
You may experience burn and scorn.
If you are feeling bold,
Then my friend, cross the threshold
Into a place dark and cold
No-holds barred
Where kindness will leave you marred
And love had been scarred
This is a place where the rains...
