Better To Stay Warm Than Freezing
You know, it's such
a good thing we
are both naked
in here instead
of being out
in the cold snow.

Free fall
Oh my goodness! I am falling!
Nothing to grab hold on
Petrified with fear
I close my eyes
Mother why did you let me go of?
Zero gravity
No more free falling
But lightweighted floating
I am dancing gracefully
Pirouetting like a ballerina
In my hectagon tutu
Far below
My brothers and sisters
Cover the ground with a
Glistening white blanket
Wait a moment!
I will come and join you!
Oh my goodness! I am falling!
Nothing to grab hold on
Petrified with fear
I close my eyes
Mother why did you let me go of?
Zero gravity
No more free falling
But lightweighted floating
I am dancing gracefully
Pirouetting like a ballerina
In my hectagon tutu
Far below
My brothers and sisters
Cover the ground with a
Glistening white blanket

After We Got Out Of That Winter Storm
It's a good thing we
got out of the snow and back
in the house. We'll just
wait for our wet clothes to dry.
Why are you staring at me?
got out of the snow and back
in the house. We'll just
wait for our wet clothes to dry.
Why are you staring at me?

Blizzards
because you are the opposite
from my other side
turned inside out
autumn's cold khaki
that clicks below
of the heels
elbows hurt
and hands slip
on door handles
abrasive mouth
kissing the back of my neck
because you are autumn
of my other skin
burned by a blizzard
autumn without shades of blue.

Who Is That Stupid?
Cody
looked out the
living
room window and saw
somebody walking
in the snow before
asking
"Who is that
stupid?"

It Got So Hot In My Apartment
One day, it got so
hot in my apartment
that I had to open
a window and let
the falling snow
hit my bare skin.

encapsulated
where her journey began
a mystery
wind took her small frame
still full of color
and vibrancy
whimsical flight
soaring
her colors slowly
fading to a golden brown
wing of hope
lifted and swirled
she holds fast to her seed
she is life
having survived a warm
wistful summer
of extravagance
against so much blue
sun kissed
silky with green
let loose
spear in the coolness
of autumn
with no set direction
she flutters ...

Snowland
Snowland
Today is almost over.
Tonight the moon did glow.
Between early morning
and midafternoon,
tomorrow, sometime soon
it will snow.
Darkness passes by,
now all but a few are still asleep.
Outside,
not a sound.
Not a peep.
A soft blanket of white
lay upon the ground.
Snowflakes are falling,
so intricately designed.
Winter is calling.
For some,
it's time to relax and unwind.
Those who sit by the fire and read a book.
Sleds and snowballs,
children play.
So much beauty all...

Between early morning

tomorrow, sometime soon

ALL OF FOOD
When I was a young lad
My father would take us to the slopes
To become the greek god versions of ourselves
Over three days we would test our bodies
Then fall in a heap at the doorstep of the Auburn Sizzler
To compete for the tallest mountain of food
The way all of food tasted
After three days skiing
Is how you feel to me
My father would take us to the slopes
To become the greek god versions of ourselves
Over three days we would test our bodies
Then fall in a heap at the doorstep of the Auburn Sizzler
To compete for the tallest mountain of food
The way all of food tasted
After three days skiing
