Long Poems for and About Sisters

Just because an impetus arose...
Thank dog, and cat,
no pet tee filed - late fee
incurred from this
sole heir, matted son
Avenue of Harris communique
to his youngest sister
busy as a queen bee,
her name mentioned
backwards solely for
wry ming sense – re:
garding Dunning-Harris Shari:
Not there need not
be any clear cut,
nor cloudy total
reason to bolster wee
kind fortitude to write
an email (albeit
with my characteristic
trademark rhyme) to in vite
my own impetus to dash ...

How the Sphinx Lost its Nose
More untimely than death...
Big brother smelled stinky when I opened his door.
He's always been aloof, writing to deadline.
He's always had takeout boxes peppered throughout his room.
It couldn't be helped.
But he has a good heart.
Brother; he's a dandelion in place of the sun.
The last bout of warm wind
casts his petals across the setting west and spring into a wistful white.
He's not moving though,
and for all his running ...

Hiding Behind My Sister's Skirt
Hiding Behind My Sister's Skirt
Though Natchez, Mississippi is my home, my ancestors migrated from the olive groves of Andalusia and the vineyards of Bordeaux to colonial New Orleans where they mated. So my disposition is lively like a fandango but at times slow moving like a Parisian Waltz.
I woo my sister. “Anna, you are a vision of divinity. You represent the embodiment of feminine beauty, a personification of the Goddess. You are forever and always my femme de la crème.” ...

I'm sorry sister,
So devastatingly beautiful,
Yet none will turn there head towards you,
With disgust or pity,
You cant see the looks,
If only you knew how they look at you.
Your so beautiful.
You don't deserve it,
You were born this way,
The doctors cant fix you,
I swore I would protect you,
You were a beautiful baby,
Especially when you smiled at me,
If only you knew.
Your so beautiful.
You can hear our words,
Understand them,
Yet you wont ever respond,
You say meaningless noises,
You don't understand. ...

Six Years of a Lifetimes
We’re bound in blood, siblings by law.
A familiar mother with separate fathers.
I reside in the middle of our trio…
Six below a Sister and Six above a Brother.
Sister and I lived a fatherless childhood.
Motherless when Foster Care was required…
Six years separating two growing young minds.
Despite circumstances similar our wounds scar separately.
Years pass by and my pains stay hidden inside…
Two thousand and one, A man impregnates my mother.
Six years turning seven and I’m to become a brother.
I see this man and know that he’ll never...
