Silence Poems
#silence
Silence poems, moving poetry about serenity and the absence of sound. Poignant, tranquil, and powerful poems about silence.
Heaven paved with my pains
.. this shitty life is nothing
but a waiting room
of a hellish asylum
overflowing with paperwork
and suffocated in its own
degenerate bureaucracy
this shitty life is nothing
but a scare in a dead-end alley
from the darkest part of a place
where no one wants to go
life, life, life
knife, knife, knife
the sound of traveling knife sharpeners
is like the creaking of hinges
of a nonexistent paradise
where an arrogant and irrational being rules...

VIOLET'S TALE
A lady down in Toronto
Is fighting just to stay alive
Rhythmic beeps and blood-stained sheets
Our lady weeps, she's tired and frail
To set the scene we must rewind
The hands of time for Violet's tale
Violet was a silent girl
Grew up with violent starts
Her mother was a drinker
And her father was a bastard
Every night he'd tuck her tight
But never left the room
I'll spare you of the things he did
I'm sure her mother knew
Violet was a silent girl
She moved out at sixteen
A semi-detached council...

The Fear of Tomorrow
Yesterday his Epitaph read...
Unknown to some for he has died
Beware to others for he's still alive
His revenge will come, when you least suspect
Ponder your thoughts now, time to reflect
You smothered and silenced him throughout life
Victimized his family, causing pain and strife
He leaves you now with one more warning
Confession will heal in time of mourning
Unknown to some for he has died
Beware to others for he's still alive
His revenge will come, when you least suspect
Ponder your thoughts now, time to reflect
You smothered and silenced him throughout life
Victimized his family, causing pain and strife
He leaves you now with one more warning
Confession will heal in time of mourning

Muted Life
A pane of glass separates me from the world. Not literal, though sometimes I wish it were. Easier to explain. This is a different kind of barrier. A film over my senses. The vibrant shades of life muted, the clamor of voices distant, like listening to a symphony through thick walls. I know it's there. I can feel the vibrations, a faint tremor of feeling. But the melody, the full richness of experience, is lost to me.
I watch people—their easy laughter, their intertwined hands, the way they lean into conversations, fully present. I see it all, catalog it, analyze it. Words form in...

Rocks On The Pond
a smooth stone
a skip
a ripple wide
reflects the sky where thoughts reside
a quick touch a moments grace
disturbs the peace of time and space
one skip
two skips
one short flight
like dreams that fade in the light
each bounce
a choice
a path we take
a life unfolding
the ripples spread a gentle sway
affecting all along the way
a small act cast
a word we send
can touch a heart
the water stills
the ripples cease
a quiet calm
a moments peace
reflection clear...

Display of Silence
Walk the earth
A pittance paid
Bloodied coin ‘neath weeping sky
Praise
Praise upon lips
Hollow hymns in hollow halls
Songs sung
Yet the tongues do tremble
A tumultuous fire
A searing wail
The crack
The crack of lightning
A flash
A breath
Then silence
Silence
Of whispers long dead
Of prayers lost to time
Names blown
Blown
Like dust on the wind
A pittance paid
Bloodied coin ‘neath weeping sky
Praise
Praise upon lips
Hollow hymns in hollow halls
Songs sung
Yet the tongues do tremble

A searing wail
The crack
The crack of lightning

Silence

Silent Bloom
i walked among the quiet stems
where sunlight touched earth's hidden gems
and found a bloom so still so shy
beneath the vast unchanging sky
it spoke no word's yet told me all
of how the winds through branches call
and how the morning's glow
is all the world should ever know
i asked it then why do you stay
in shadows soft and light's delay
but silence echoed in the air
a secret hidden everywhere
the world it moves relentless and fast
yet blooms like this are built to last
they hold the quiet of the past ...

Lusting Quietly for You
Suffering in silence
We'd do well together
It will never happen
I'll injure myself instead
That always takes the edge off
It lasts for a day
Then I start all over again
We'd do well together
It will never happen
I'll injure myself instead
That always takes the edge off
It lasts for a day
Then I start all over again

Groups Of One
The city bleeds in neon scars,
shattered glass and burnt out cars.
Graffiti screams on broken stone,
a warning carved, but left unknown.
They march with fire, fists held tight,
a cause, a chant, a staged street fight.
Justice blurred by shattered panes,
smoke and sirens, mud and stains.
Out past the alleys, past the screams,
the world splits wide in warring teams.
Borders drawn in blood and sand,
leaders lie with shaking hands.
But I don’t march, I don’t belong,
no banner in my sight, no battle song.

Can you Hear the Silence
Can you hear the silence
I yearn for the silence to hear me
I run from the noise that assaults me
I breathe but my breath can’t hear me
I live for the silence that lives within the trees
We’re so used to the noise that silence scares us
I get anxious when the silence confronts me
I am afraid to not hear a sound around me
Make some noise to make him go away
Can you Hear the Silence
I yearn for the silence be near me
I run from the noise that’s around me
