infidelity of my heart talking
I won't silence my soul
you seduced me with your attitude
but then you hid
I could see you
it took a while to pick up on your movements
In Between the lines
you were being wicked
sarcastic poetry I took personally
then you said you loved me
you left me wondering why
I'm curious I was blind to you
the first few years

maybe we've had it wrong all along
they watch...
with their glass dagger eyes
sharpened to the point of gouging
razor tongues ever at the ready
eager to slash truth...
...into something more suitable
more in line with their toxic savagery
their ears like pools of poison
soaking up & destroying honesty
as it drips acid from their mouths
who knows from where these ghouls originate
as they spread lies...
whispered into porous minds
allowing such foul germs as judgment & hate to pollinate
turning them into a singly directed organism

Something's inside
You wish you were asleep.
You wish you weren't alive.
You wish so many things but you haven't opened your eyes.
You aren't real on the ground.
Just look at that beast in the mirror.
Don't you wish you could be free?
It couldn't be any clearer.
Sounds around you.
Are you scared?
Shrieks and screams ring.
Flesh and clothes flee.
Ripped from their homes.
Shhh...
You're safer alone you think.
But soon you realize.
That subtle note sings every time in bed you lie.
Bloodshots reappearing old...
You wish you weren't alive.

God isn't who you all think he is
or at least he's not like I thought
I'm having issues with my man
I ask God to help and he brings this harlot
practically on a plate
I ask God why he would do that to me
he said I don't understand how a man is made
he says he loves you and I should look the other way
I cheated on my husband once
and God threw the guilt at me
I said why is it okay for him?
he says do you want me to get him over his cheating
I said no I just wanted him to stop but my father said he won't
it's free...
or at least he's not like I thought

Youll find my ashes suffocated there,
under the rug, where you swept
everything, leaving dusty truths
hidden beneath.

Yet everyone can see it
By the way he looks at you

Oh, star brightest star
That's first in the sky
I don't need advice;
I just need an ear.
Nobody else must know
But I feel terrible.
You seem quite capable
Of fighting evil's blow.
Shine for my heart
Let your fire burn my strife
With resilience tonight;
Shine on with luster.
The sight of you is crisp
Your wisdom is your silence;
I lay this up to heaven
And trust it upon your lips.
