A Dummy and his Man
A man and his dummy
(Wayland and madame)
Ran into a ventriloquist
Wanted to get both sides
Man and his puppet
But he said I had to decide
Who I wanted to talk to
I thought they were…one and the same
But he had two sides
The side of a dummy
And his true life
Didn’t think I would have to make a choice
But it’s clear to see
That the man and his dummy
Are two separate beings
They’re two separate beings
Just two separate beings
The man puts him on the shelf
And then the puppet comes alive
Man goes to bed
And the other parties til sunrise
How can I sit on a shelf
While the man dreams all night long
It doesn’t seem right know
It’s got to change
So I pick up my wooden legs and
Dance and drink and sing
So I pick up my wooden legs and
Dance and drink and sing
Dance all night long…Til I get a splinter
Dance all night long…Til I get a splinter
Till I get a splinter
