Writing Gone Wrong
Reflections on gratitude,
and griefs of ghosts past --
Unruly mind pulled from what is required,
focus smashed into shards of hurt
and memories of a death well lived.
Hours perish.
No matter how I try to train the intellect
it drops into a bottomless emotional abyss,
words turning from academia
and serving only sentiment --
I cling to the cliffside, crying
trying
to hoist my
thoughts from the gloom
but they’re so
heavy and I’m
falling and I need to
get out

I Escaped, But Only Just - Part 5: Aloof From My Peers
I attended a Jewish High school in the north of England that bore a vague resemblance to the kids from the Beverly Hills. Our family weren’t rich - and therefore, I didn’t belong socially. In time, I would face a new issue that marked me as different: labels I hadn’t paid attention to before. Remedial. Autistic. Slow. Educationally Subnormal.

To students everywhere...
Your halls are empty...
No sounds from the gym
the band room is locked,
no music its silent
no BO, no sweat (its always hot at school!)
No laughter, no smiles
No pics, no signatures
No tears of joy/sadness..
What about all the hard work you did?
Its hard, we know.
We hear you, classes of all ages...

Education- not justified
From a very tender age we were told that our future depends on it
Made to believe our entire lives rely upon it.
So we dedicated our lives to it
Ventured countless days
Endless mornings.
Come rain or hellfire
We were whipped to attend it
Our parents spent all their lives savings so that they can afford us this thing
They drown in debt for it
But even with it, nothing is guaranteed.
This is it, education.
Yes, maybe there are some good memories
And some people actually make it
It also feels good to...
