I stood condemned for choosing sanity over family
nevertheless I stood my ground
doing what's best for me
but you...you threw poisoned darts
guilt-laden barbs
ever the daggers at tender back
feeling sorry for yourself
for taking my power back
I actually hate that expression
what power - as a child - could I really call mine
when you were supposed to protect me
instead you were grooming me for the monster who molested me
take it back indeed

Betrothed To The Dark
Betrothed to the dark side,
my innermost self, Welshman,
embracing one's soul, dressed
in Saks Fifth Avenue.
Often accompanied by an inquiry
in narcissistic transparency
by the insinuating hoodwinking fools.
Playing patty cake's inebriation,
as society gives them a pass.

The Aquarium
Welcome to the aquatic shed
the only way out is through.
Sharpened fins swim overhead,
dinky critters distract below.
Gaze upon fragmented life
where every stroke rehearsed.
The devoted watch with wearied eyes
as each relation is unearthed.
Tempered glass reflecting screens
showing this season’s outtakes.
We mourn behind the scenes
then laugh when the conveyor breaks.
So tunnel under bothered blue
or stand tall on mortal limbs.
If only impulse you can subdue
you can choose to sink or swim.

Jamboree
Jamboree
Young catholic people from far-flung places are arriving
in Lisbon, plain young boys and girls looking sober smiling
and waving to the camera.
Dressed in jeans and T. shirts that say something about peace
no hint of rebellion here, and no drugs needed as they are filled
with the holy spirit.
No uppity youth here, no green hair no torn jeans showing
knees and thighs, and no placard protesting against
the rotten government, the rainbow banner is banned.
In Portugal this is a big deal, people are jubilant...

The Jigsaw of Life
Life is just a jigsaw of moments pieced together with acceptance of now . I found the corner bit. It's appreciating that this moment Is far more prepossessing beguiling, profound a drop of nectar. The jigsaw of your life is asking you to be fully present with the unique asymmetrical piece in your hand now don't worry about the complex two dimensional wooden pieces of life past and future.They can't be joined together for one is gone and one isn't here yet.

Of socks and clocks
The day lies
spread-eagled before me
passive and ready
to bend to my will,
And I sit, impotent,
paralyzed...
Like socks in the dryer,
I'm watching
tumbles and jumbles
of wants and shoulds
cycling through my head,
never settling on a course of action
My mind's eye follows one
for a while
and I've almost decided --
when an abrupt shift of colour and texture
whisks it out of sight,
out of mind...
and they just keep taking turns
flopping around, never settling

My Father is Forever
I found my peace in hell,
Done in by dragon’s breath.
Onto my knees I fell,
Into a soulless death.
My father is forever,
Through death and desolation.
For his crying rivers,
A rock of consolation.
Walking in his shadow,
My shoulders stand up straighter.
A path to doing better,
Makes good sooner or later.
The bearing of my burden,
Like talons in my torso,
Gives reason to my rising,
A purpose even more so.

Scenes of a marriage
I should have known, she was up before me
I made a cup of coffee and went back to my study
to reflect upon the new day
How wrong I was
She entered; my navel-gazing had to be for another day
“Go and have a shower and put a nice shirt on
we are going to the solicitor.”
“I’m not smelly; I have not had breakfast; why should
I dress up for a solicitor, charging me money for what?

Looking-I stopped looking when I saw her seated in the middle row of multi-coloured British seats.
Hand made,perfectly different coloured British hard to the bottom seats.
English,British seeks.
Seats,sticky to the touch,to the sound,these English seats. Where many English seats adorn these British seats.
