SONG FROM THE DARK
Treading through the blood of my sins
Tainted by the dark shadows of my errors
Stained by the lack of knowledge of years past
Paved with inscriptions of my scarlet letters throughout my body
My mouth with the horrid taste of death, itself
The result of foul speech, vulgarism, and slander
The stench that reeks through the essence of my pores
Creating an atmosphere around me of pestilence of all my accumulated wrongs
Of years past and of long ago
Drowned soul of mine in pools of demonic waters within me

L'esprit de l'escalier 6/30
an undiscovered narrative
the lace covers but not
enough that
a place downstairs
appears alive behind walls
and someone is a peer
at the curving
stairs
shutters
between poles appearing as
glimpses of bouncy foot
sneakers
rubber
skidding tires black
white trim
a succession in
movements
through bannisters
narrow
blurred around the edges
excitement
hurry
shock
which?
i wish i could hourglass
then what i said just a second later

Lost
I'm carving letters
each superimposed upon the last
digging deeper
Ancient runes, scratching and clawing
until a heart exposed, bleeds
Pain was always our love language
words once medicinal, lacerate
I am but a wound, weeping
You were not alone
I will never be whole

Head Space
There was a time
I believed your tongue
Silvered words chime
In my head they hung
Hot-air balloons
Swelled my ego’s delight
Outside buffoons
I ignored on site
I believed everything you were
Ingested every lie you’d slur
I questioned myself when the truth was right there
Because ignorance was grand when I lived in fear
I saw no reason
To abandon your love
Blind to your treason
It fit like a glove
Blind to your deceit
I cared not to look
I marched to your beat
A controlled opened book ...

The Ink I Bleed
Eyes closed, adrift in a dystopian delusion
flailing in the quicksand of someone
else’s hourglass, sinking only to be turned
around again and drowned
Who swings the pendulum, can I not
choose my own reality as I press my
legs against the glass, if it breaks am I
cut into a million stars, or am I left
whole, carrying the scars of a universe
Perhaps the universe as we know it is
merely a glitter globe sitting on the desk
of a man dreaming about drowning, all of
us have hourglasses to shatter or die

Cry 4 M3
These tears I hold
Musters an epidemic effect
My heart weathers the cold
My brokenness breaks down to reflect
The raindrops that falls
Upon me from heavens grace
Revamp themselves to acid balls
Melting away my emotionless face
The thunderstorms I relinquish
Reinforce my bitter rage
Cycling itself in hateful sequence
Thrashing upon its earthly cage
The angels I wrestle above
Harden their hearts on stony wings
The stars I once held onto with love
Tarnished their souls for worldly things
I will never forget

Empty Glasses
This room full of glasses half full
a closer look reveals each
glass is leaking on its way to
empty
In the darkest corner
an emaciated dog licks
the remnants of lives from
the floor
We used to run in the meadow
hiding in the tall grass
forever friends and first kisses
with a future at arm's length
Now only the sandy grit
gargling the fragments of broken
hourglasses, vomiting only
bloody memories
Am I there on the ground,
a life leaked upon an
unforgiving floor, salvation

The Home of Nowhere
As I inhaled, her stars shifted and an ethos
once grasped so tightly crumbled into tiny
pieces of failure, on a whisper do your
dreams waft away as your soul lay dying
It’s on the wind, a bitter taste of acrid smoke
and the symphony created by the demons
wings, it becomes that lonely hum beneath
the streetlights, you are alone
If you see my face you are a sinner, your
salvation rests upon the the razor’s edge
of the executioner’s axe, but that fate is a
blessing, ‘‘tis worse to live as nothing
Look not for...

A MAN TO HOLD
Our reality forbade me from kissing your lips
And stroking your hair with my fingertips.
All I could do was hold your hand
When I traveled the distance to a different land
Just to see you for a quick little hour
And I gladly took that power.
How I longed to know how you kissed
And a touch of a man, oh how I missed.
How much it pained me, you have no clue,
To not be able to cuddle up with you.
Sitting across from you, my mind slowly would drift away
And all we had for memories were conversations from day to day.

Drunk Off Your Shit
These hangovers I cradle
Swaddle freely as a fable
My soul sweeps itself under a table
My will to live is no longer stable
My existence becomes a tramp
Vagrant’s firepits I camp
My sympathetic heart you vamp
Vile wickedness you stamp
You keep more secrets than a vault
Play the victim like it’s my fault
I fantasized about assault
But you aren’t worth it so I halt
My morning coffee has more bite
Jack does good, Jack does right
I Crown the Bull to give me flight
So I may escape this petty fight

canary bird
A canary bird in its cage placed near a window
a leafy tree of spring, where lesser sparrows sat
wished for the mystical word, freedom
Was the freedom the canary bird saw real or not
constructed by an AI method, like the journalist
in a famous newspaper had seen a clip where
her husband was eating lettuce with a rabbit
Ai, opens up a scary world, where fake is true
and we can't know the difference
The eyes seeing us are blind, they have no life
and do not know they are construct
but human-like robots might in time develop

Polvo Brazileiro
I am also proud
To belong to the
Polvo Brazileiro
Also many years when
I was born one Brazilian
Polvo
I lived in São Paulo
I had been robed while walking
In the street of São Paulo
And it is not safe to walking in São Paulo
You also could be killed in the street in São Paulo
Also in São Paulo you can't drive you car with you
Window open
I never liked living in São Paulo
When I was just a teenager
I moved out of São Paulo
To Canada
I love living in Canada
At least it is safe to walk on the streets ...
