Augmentation
Not unacquainted
yet holding still
past attempts tainted
by utter self-will
From a deadly place
of perceived fatal pain
seeking solace and grace
now on knees again
Inward realisation
of soul’s decline
necessary augmentation
to spiritually align
A solution outlined
initiating the quest
failures left behind
gratefully blessed
Familiar, this passage
still, something anew
direction without damage
a fevered path to pursue

A New Desire, A New Tomorrow
I won't depart, even as we drift away,
A steadfast light, in your night, I'll stay.
By your side, whenever you need my part,
But I won't cease living, fueled by my own fire.
Choosing happiness, a new desire,

While in the Eye of the Hurricane
Gotta remember that life will hit you from time to time
Even if you didn’t see the punch coming your way
Gotta roll with it even if you find yourself deep in it
Because eventually you’ll make it through the fray
It’s true what they say, you’re a villain in someone else’s story
And no matter what facts you put forth the truth can be subjective
Sometimes the consequences from the past will follow all along
Even when you’re close to reaching your goals and objectives
Whether you decide to get up and fight or stay down or take flight
Life...

You have reshaped
By piecing together
A once unified canvas of colors
Which is your being
That was stomped
Shattered
Recreated
Refined
Into a mosaic
A mosaic that is more beautiful
Than the once known canvas
Torn, shattered
But reordered, recreated-
Into the work of art
Known as your life
Your internal self
Your being
Creating a burst of colors
That once did not exist
A mosaic
Of beautiful art
You truly are
By piecing together
A once unified canvas of colors
Which is your being
That was stomped

Refined
Into a mosaic

Moving Forward
Perhaps it’s the mental preparation that helps with some foresight
Seeing the hurricane winds ahead of time for what they are
Loud and destructive
I’m in a different state of mind
Ready for this
And sure enough when I got the call
It was that old familiar vexing tone
But
I’m more at peace with myself
For some reason as the berating went on
I pictured boards and tiles falling off my roof
As the winds tossed them over my head
I, on a long ladder
Hammering nails to make sure nothing more can be torn off
Watching...

the pulp of an orange
twisting like a labyrinthine
tear my carpels apart
consume my pericarp
tenuous chiffon, unveil me
rip me from my seams
pick out the loose threads
something you'll never mend
.

.
.
(when i first got together with
my partner, it was hard for me
i was unused to feeling
the rawness and reality of love.
so quickly i became obsessed
with that idea and i felt afraid.
i didn't want him to leave me
and the only type of love...
