Driving on unlit Berkshire roads
I wonder what these massholes think of
my bumper sticker. Then I wonder
why they stopped putting ashtrays in cars.
They’re asking what has happened tomorrow.
I am telling you, I already told
you, I am certain. I certainly
got gas before I hit state lines, I certainly
haven’t died yet clutched in the talons
of a big black bird, certainly
haven’t died yet my heart staked up
on a lawn arms tacked up like a banner
on a garage door kicked shut closed for good and ever.
This year, I will to keep...

Shelter in Place
No. Not weed. My lungs are sore and gorged.
No, we drank all of the beer last night.
But I have sour mix. I could make drinks.
Look up if the liquor store is open.
I’m full. I’m sick. It’s much too late and I
Am tired and this feels surreal already.
Oh god, don’t even think about an upper.
I am too tired. My head hurts. We should
Fuck, maybe it will help my headache.
But first just let me wash my hands. Oh,
Come now. Please, don’t take this out on me.
Where will you go? The house feels large and empty.
It’s almost April. Outside it’s...

CROSSING PATHS
Everything is lush,
the birds are chirping.
"Hey sir,
where are you going-
do you need a ride?"
the man says at the stop sign
leaning out his truck window.
"I don't thanks."
I need the exercise
but it does make me wonder:
who was he-
a new friend
struggling to overcome social anxiety
by reaching out?
Perhaps...
I think as I put on my mask
in case any other humans
cross my path.

THESE SHORT DAYS
Without a nightlife
These short days
Can offer me no thrill
So with thoughts rife
Of your soft ways
I'm longing for you still

Can offer me no thrill

Of your soft ways
I'm longing for you still

A Sestina for Jade
Statistics said she didn’t stand a chance
Now I wonder more about why she’s gone
The words she wrote had something else to tell
While on lock down when we were on all indoors
Like a foreboding to reflect on life
As everyone else had to stay apart
And then as we all tried to stay apart
We didn’t know who amongst us stood a chance
While many were very careless with life
The plague swept away and then they were gone
As she wrote about being stuck indoors
Suffering with something she wouldn’t tell
But then again...

Leave Big Bird Alone!
Leave Big Bird alone!
He’s just trying to live his best life
Why do these bastards want to debone
A beloved character with so much rife
Leave the six year-old alone!
He is a national treasure in children’s eyes
I don’t like some of these people’s tones
They’re trying to bring his career to a demise
Can’t they see he’s trying to promote
Being safe and healthy and just being kind
But these politicians are so cutthroat
Their sinister plans are just plain asinine
He’s taught me and our children so much
To be loving...

What Or Who Is Our Worst Problem?
What or who is the cause of the biggest problems in the world?
There are problems such as crime, natural disasters, and poverty.
However, the global political system causes the worst problems.
Some people are discussing the deadly pandemic and the vaccine.
Others are talking about the pointless lockdown and social distancing.
Still others are concerned about loss of jobs and the lack of food.
Think about the gross corruption and wickedness of politicians.
Statespersons are instigators of conflicts, cruelty, and oppression.

I Went to see a Customer
It had been 18 months
He was out with surgery
Frigging pandemic too
He asked me to come
When I greet men
It's usually an elbow bump
Today we shook hands
We toured his shop
Did our business
Made a list
Then talked some
It was then time for me to leave
I don't think he wanted me to go
It was an emotional moment
Sales calls are rarely emotional
This one stayed with me

Flashback 2020
The world is on the brink
Of a massive pandemic.
People hurry in a panic
To protect themselves
From a deadly virus.
They scramble to
The nearest grocery store
To buy the one thing
That can save them
From such a forbidding fate.
Toilet paper.
That's right.
Toilet paper.
I am not sure
If I will survive this wave.
But at least my ass will be clean.

Question to
thoughts dismantled
An urge to pen everything around.
was it enough to heal the trauma around?
survive among the developed.
efforts are made to achieve the breakthrough.
hope is the only opportunity for the prosperity, is it?
greed is making a way.
contributions made for better future for humans.
Does human have climate and renewable on table for better future?

The COVID-19 Vaccine Is Not The Saviour Of The World
The COVID-19 vaccine will cause discrimination and division among the people.
People who take the vaccine will turn against those who refuse to take it.
It is definitely wrong to make the controversial COVID-19 vaccine mandatory.
Those who doubt the vaccine have the right to decide whether to take it or not.
I have raised many issues that are crucial for the survival of humankind,
But only a few cautious persons so far have participated in the debates.
Is there any evidence to support the rumour that COVID-19 is a bioweapon?
Do you think...
