Dido 2
English version:
I ruined my reputation
Made a foe out of Iarbas
Endangered my whole nation
All for my dearest Aenas
You talk of your duty
I betrayed my dead husband
You talk of your Italy
A not-yet existing land
Take all my power
Take all you can
So you have to leave?
Then face me like a man!
Speaking of the gods
Remember that day?
That day when fate
brought us up to that cave
Remember the torches
we held so tight
It...

Lost in ashes
Night arrives
In its sultry starry splendor
Sleeping giant stirs
With suffering to render
Fortress for the forgotten
Lies beneath gilded soil
Awakened with sorrows dreams
Enticing dead blood to boil
From cracking earth
He does rise
Bringing shrieks of madness
And merciful melancholy cries
Displeased gods
Exacting their vengance
Bringing a quick end
To unwanted tenants
Rivers rage with fire
While toxic fume gnashes
Island nightmare unleashed
Paradise lost in ashes
In its sultry starry splendor
Sleeping giant stirs
With suffering to render
Fortress for the forgotten
Lies beneath gilded soil
Awakened with sorrows dreams
Enticing dead blood to boil
From cracking earth

Baobab Fruit - rewrite
Baobab Fruit
The magic hour of nightfall approaches
We follow the avenue of the baobab trees
to the home whose hidden history cries
like a nightingale in the forest of dreams
The path between the old souls
made of wood is cool and dark
as the black forest on a gothic evening
under the howl of a hyena moon
The sky has a salmon-pink...

We've got the moon; we've got the fire;
We've got all the things that we need
To satisfy the desire...
Of stress boatloads needing freed
To drift themselves into the night
Where they may pester demons there
Instead of giving us a fright
Amid the spring fresh midnight air
Where moonbeams mix with firelight
As cloud forms menace the sky
Only to catalyze insight
As with a providential eye,
Reflecting before, AND BEYOND,
How harmony will correspond!
We've got all the things that we need
To satisfy the desire...
Of stress boatloads needing freed
To drift themselves into the night
Where they may pester demons there
Instead of giving us a fright

You Take My Heart Somewhere In Time
Once upon a long ago time
Until the Gods I’ve loved
Who their tongues taste of my skin
Like fine wine
Unto the earth, until the stars
You all were my Man from Mars
Apollo
Unto you I bow until your throne
You, were the one who kissed me behind my neck
As our love died on
Zeus, such a handsome man to be a God and a Muse
Dionysius, the man I’ve loved
Like a million roars
He was the one
Who made my honey drip out of my pores
Unto Ares oh, such a love, so divine...

SAND CYCLES (5-11-2000, Galveston Island, Texas)
lying down to sleep
as old day slips away
funneled through
the upturned hourglass
of my surrendered mind
until the alarm clock
signals me
with soft music
turned down low
leading me gently
up and out
of sleeps receding hole
away from all my
now lapsed
dreamland wanderings
spontaneous journeys
gone
strange mysteries
soon forgotten
slipped away like sand
sunk back into that darker world
of deep subconscious
gravity
as i awaken peacefully
into whatever
this new...

Fire Opal Nights
Campfire, moonlight, and raspberry wines
And a gentle breeze through rosemary blooms
Are the mixed cuisine on which fancy dines
Before exploring dream alternate rooms
Wherein flame, smoke, and love, whirl and dance
As wispy clouds soften all the moonbeams
Used to give mortal romance every chance
To blaze brighter than old immortal dreams
As when the moon herself was fresh and young
And lava flowed from every comet strike
Like manna from a rudely struck out bung
Which nature knew to be unsportsmanlike.
So, she made chaos a bit more...

Romulus
The whelping bitch gave us her teat.
And we, of Mars and vestal born,
and water shed,
wolfed down the milk inside
of it.
And strengthened so,
we lived lupine, wood-cocked,
all feral, at the start
but grew, when crooked and shepherded,
to be two men
god destined at first
to roam
and rape,
and then unseat
usurpers from their thrones,
until, before the Palatine,
bird signed,
I drew a citied circle on the earth
and placed upon myself the mark of Cain.

What’s Love Without Tragedy
Greek Mythology muse, Melpomene, holds lovers’ hearts in the palm of her hand
Asunder from the woman’s heart she dangles the man
The mask and knife, searches for lovers across the vast land
Slaying erected castles made of sand
To thy love a whisper in secrecy, discerning eyes must decide
You can’t run, I can’t hide
Souls encased in a time capsule continue to gently coincide
Passion, felt to the heart so sweet
Mind thinning, days upon my skin feels bleak
Against the wind take my hand

Shirith'nar's Pleasure
- Shirith'nar's Pleasure -
Pale blue as like an azure jewel, her flesh enhanced with cybernetics...
Eyes glowing with the light from electric vibrancy, with a lust for life!
Unlike those who had created the form she wore like some do raiment,
She was a freer spirit, with inclinations far beyond the mind to ponder.
The product of cloning and mechanical engineering, a perfect creation,
Eve was never so fair, nor so imaginative and sometimes so very sick...
With passion's fever, stirring her on, to use her wiles in cause of strife.

Reminiscing On The Past
Sometimes I come back to this island
And reminisce on the past
Walking through the forest I once called home
I used to take strolls here-much like this-
Amidst all the beautiful plants and tall trees
Hearing the sounds of creatures scurrying out of sight
I’m reminded of all I’ve left behind
A small part of me wonders
What would my life be like if I stayed on this island?
I walk on, deeper into the forest
And I take in my surroundings
A mix of light and dark greens
Vines strewn everywhere
A slight breeze...

Mythology Mischief
Mythology is such an interesting topic, it’s riddled with lessons in the midst of a bunch of madness. Mischief reigns supreme, as I’ve done a lil’ research of my own.
The Norse god Thor presided over the skies and provided defense for the city of Asgard. In his absence, the gods decided that a fortification should be built for it's protection
A stranger came and offered his services to build the structure in less than a year
With the stipulation that he marry the beautiful goddess Freya
The gods were outraged! The task was impossible not only that, Freya was off limits ...
