And I Ask Myself
And i ask myself,
is all the pain worth this life,
slamming the door wide open,
never to be closed,
emotions flooding like the tide,
pulled under by a turbulent mind
Once you get used to drowning,
it doesn't feel so bad,
losing the life that was,
growing gills,
breathing love,
to give up everything to hold your hand,
as I ask myself one last time
Yes, a thousand time yes.
To be inspired by love,
finding a light shining in our soul
that we might find our way,
knowing the journey is never walked...
is all the pain worth this life,

The Indian elephant
I knew of an Indian elephant who worked at a circus
on an act where unhappy animals sit up and beg
and sad clowns who know they are pathetic dance
one day, the elephant stopped the act, addressed
the public
why is it that the rich pay no tax but have a choice
of food to eat and do not help the poor
out of poverty

Right as soon as she jumped in, I'm freezing.
Not breathing. She ain't even listening.
Can't get past this.
No silver lining.
No.
Cascading waves of grace sheds away.
Shes fading fast at incredible paces.
A figment of my imagination.
There and gone as soon as she jumped in.
Cascading waves took her away
and we lost her to the
godforsaken
ocean.
Nearly grown and still believes in magic
how could we have known she'd be shedding her skin?

Is my mattress
And the softly cresting waves
Are my pillows
The blue sky above
Is my ceiling
And the growing moon
Is my bedside light

Drifting on the soft currents
Of my mind

Ebb, and flo
Seeing of the day
In wonder of the morrow
The sky darkens
As the sea
Black as oil
Other than a streak of moonlight
Flows like crushed velvet
Soft sensual ripples
Enticing

There is near the houses a deep well
you can´t stick a bucket on a rope, much ropes were needed.
They used to hire a man usually the village idiot
to spend his life hauling up buckets of water.
Villagers believed the water came from the Yanjing river in China.
A man who had gone to school disagreed; it is a deep
underground river, he said. For this, he was disliked.
One day he fell down the well, but since it was not
man made and smooth a big stone sticking out saved him
from falling all the way down.

The Fantasy of Childhood
There was a tiny house near the main house built I think to house the elderly, but ended up being a place for old furniture, bits, and bobs.
There was a loft where we kids sat, made grand plans
of great daring, mostly in Africa.
Sometimes with the help of a few crates, we made a ship and set sail, Naturally, my friend whose mother worked in a cake shop and brought us day-old cakes, was the ship's captain.
The engineer, whose father had a shop that sold second
thing like shoes, trousers, and whatever, he, the father,
