the city has a past ..
the buildings of the city are rather
like a family, some of whom are old,
some not quite so old, some still
relevant and some utterly outdated ..
then there are the younger ones, of course,
of which some are made of glass,
much too brittle and bright and transparent
to think they might actually be related ..

the stars cried
the sun fell fell to the Earth
the ocean swallowed it; a bitter pill
skies darkened with the absence of light
the apocalyptic doom was upon us
night riders took to the streets
rapers of humanity
they were in their element
looters of truth
they stole all wisdom
leaving the peoples blind
while they heralded in the age of ignorance
Lucifer appeared in his full glory
stars cried knowing their time was up
one by one they blink out
the prophecy had been fulfilled ...

The forest children
Music of the forest
Sweet nature song
Trees are swaying in the breeze
rubbing limbs with the each other
Many shades of green
Canopy creating patterns on leafy floor
as sunlight tries to reach the ground
A clear stream runs through
Water, like liquid crystal
jumping over rounded rocks
throwing little diamonds
caught by blades of grass
Ancient stone circles
covered with lichens and moss
solemnly concealing their mystery
If you sit quietly and listen
you can hear faint laughter
It is the laughter of the forest...

Man of God who looked to unify, whites, blacks and every other color under the rainbow.
Cyanide laced blood of God for you all to drink, hurry, hurry children.Bit the bullet as everyone else swallowed.
Sunglasses covering the sickness in his eyes as he spoke of giving high praise.behind closed doors getting high as fuck with a smile on his face.
Cocaine fueled delusions driving him to convince his sheep to mass self slaughter.Jim, rest in piss.

A Singular Book
A brilliant career we had calved,
The places master and I roamed.
Memories... are all that I have,
While wedged between brothers I’ve known.
The years have not gone very well
Since master’s fortunes have all flown.
He looks for answers from the shelves,
His’try, as books like me have shown
Is bound to repeat, as he delves,
He prays that his luck will come home.
There’s ‘neigh can be done by the elves,
On pages, words written in stone.
Though hundreds of me by ourselves, ...
The places master and I roamed.

Flames Burn Quietly (Third Edition)
..in grassy park
hung willow vines
weeping
at sun smiles
reflecting
over the rippled surface
of a water body
preaching
peace and silence
to anyone
with an acumen
to stop and listen
kids
taking turns at
swings
round-a-bouts
between slides-
batting eyelashes
of friendship
at each other
in the winds
that blow the smell

Flashback: Acid 101
Vietnam: American soil
maroon(ed) southern roots
twisted around a civil war;
Nixon and tin soldiers
lay four dead in Ohio.
John F Kennedy: membrane
sliding down the limousine
shattering the American dream;
a souvenir of pavement
by way of conspiracy.
Martin Luther King, Jr: jawbone
disjointed, hanging by a tendon
cupped in the hand of a friend;
its severed skull conjuring
Injustice on the balcony.
Woodstock: retaliation's skin...

and each at their own insistence ..
I quite like the calm appraisal
that historians bring to the past
supplying a little distance
to what is actually quite vast ..

Gunslingers and cowboys Series 2 - legend of a handless cowboy
A camp in the dessert
You are huddled around the fire
You hear the voice of a stranger
"Have you heard of the headless horseman?
- I am the handless cowboy!
I walk around begging for food and Whisky
I bless those who help me
I curse those who refuse
You don't know how the legend began. Do you?
Sixty years ago on the same day as tonight
I was on the floor next to a railway line
I was not near a station
I was hidden out of sight
I had robbed trains, farms and banks
Robbery was not part of my plan
I had...

The SNVL Of Reading .
1)
The monotone
we drive avatars to
when we're
hiding our heads
in unlit
halls
while, white blood cells
accumulate
un-needed wealth
-immunity
draining lymphatics
in grey chemotherapeutic
mercury salivating
mouths
2)
The young ones
(and some old ones)
but mostly teens
toss the laundry out
in two by twos ...
