Keeping rabbits
After the German army surrendered, life was tough
the army had employed many to do road work and
repairing bridges, the allies had bombed.
With freedom of movement to roam in the night
followed theft of food items like the man who
stormed into a bakery waving a rusty Mauser gun
stealing bread; the coal depot needed security
guards as did the sausage producer.
The police force was reduced, and many officers had been
fired since they had been Nazi sympathizers during
the war of occupation; mind, many trickled back ...

Going All In
When you know everything you need to know
Feel everything you need to feel
When it all comes together
Push all of your being
To become an unstoppable force
Those with you will fight alongside you
Those apathetic will be left behind
Those against you will be crushed
You are The Unstoppable Force
Don't YOU forget it
Feel everything you need to feel
When it all comes together
Push all of your being
To become an unstoppable force

Those against you will be crushed

oil Jackpot in Norway
Oil jackpot
When coming home from the ship, his coastal town
was in an uproar from every window, people shouted
and banged pot pans together
People danced in the street, which was unheard of
young people shamelessly made love under oaks
so eagerly that trees that had been around forever
lost their leaves.
At home, his mother hollered, from the window
we are richer than the Americans, wealthier then
the Saudis.
His father said, no point going back to see if we can
Pakistanis and the Philippines for this.

Hollow
It's what your name means
Who decided to name the first child
Hollow...
Did they know something we didn't?
Names... They have meaning
They impact us in ways we don't realize
Sometimes I swear... That's all you are
Hollow...
You save lives... Fight fires
In all regards you are a hero
Meeting and surpassing everything
And yet... You message me...
When that exterior seemingly cracks
And the space underneath your skin
Reveals the empty void that lays there
Hollow
Space is a hollow that holds stars and galaxies ...

Into the Missed
Into the Missed
There's those
whose thoughts
are blues
as dots
that never
nowhere....
no,
not again.
Those were
the ones
who,
in my memory,
were perfection,
in all directions,
forever
new.
My last look
may not be
as stellar as
the sky
that birthed me,
but
I'm the same
as ever was....
even moreso.

Beowulf Pt.2
I asked her what his name was, then dropped the silver on the floor screaming it
His mother burst into a hysterical laugh, hoping that she was dreaming it
I should had seen the resemblance, I should had been a better parent than my own
His mother is promising death to me and the guilt wont leave me alone
I buried Grendel among my gods, a boy without a father lead wayward
I should had been proud of his many conquest instead of listening to the naysayers
His mom constantly tries to bed me and asking if I want something to eat

Beowulf
I, I am Beowulf a God among men
Adventurer of a many exploits, my beginnings touches my ends
My existence began so far away, in the dark recesses of a country town
Across an ocean and hidden behind a mountain range, no more than a whelp when found
Offered to board a ship, to be fed while learning a trade
Thirty pieces of silver exchanged hands, my parents smiled and a deal was made
Carted off to the ship, the first I’d seen the ocean or been away from home
The hard work I was accustom, but enough to eat wasn’t the norm
I learned my duties...

the division
The division
Here in this landscape of bushes and crippled trees
the grotesque peace of daylight ghosts, grey boughs
stretching upward appealing to a soundless god.
“Give us today a new life.” There is only one deity
the almighty one goes under the name of Silvanus.
Those who do not understand this are doomed to
a life of empty pursuit of pleasures.
Crowded nightclubs and casinos, people trying
not to be alone in the night and face the truth
we are mortals and infrequently remembered.
Faces in a black frame, seeing you seeing...

garments
Garments
Opened the wardroom’s door, suits and jackets worn
so long looked like sad copies of me.
Gave all my clothes to the salvation army, which gave
them to people not unlike me.
Too much textile is a heavy burden one becomes and
snug in old suits losing interest in adventures.
I bought a pair of jeans and a matching jacket, walked out
at dawn’s first light, began looking for a horse, failing that
a mule to transport me when I traverse the landscape
of imagining, I’m a cowboy lassoing dreams.

and it was hewr summer
And It Was Her Summer
“Go back to the children’s home, she said I have no work and
can’t afford to keep you” Late June afternoon she sat on a bench
with a man, I didn’t know. The man smiled I didn’t like him, but
took the coins he gave me to buy an ice –cream for; I was still
hanging about so mother got up and slapped me across the face.
” Get lost, you stupid boy!” My face was burning I threw the coins
into the lake and ran away. When I stopped running it was night
and I could see sheep in a field, I was tired and cold, thought of ...

occupied
The occupied
Never negotiate
With the conquering invaders
He will think
You are pathetic and ask for more.
He will respect you
If you refuse him
And have contempt
If you give way.
If he built a house in your garden
Is constructed on your land
Eventually, it will be yours
You sign no contract
You gave no ground
In the end
The occupier leaves
Defeated
By your steadfastness.

A Breeze In The Wind
Deep into another nightmare.
The skies alive with flare.
Alone on the wall I stand.
The banner is in my hand.
Are you ready for the siege tonight?
We’re walking to victory.
Hey you men, come into the light.
We’re making history.
We are the breeze in the wind.
A zephyr whisper before we begin.
At the head of a thousand, I enter in.
Strong as the wind.
Caught up in another run.
Standing tall, the war is won.
I see your face before me now.
There is one thing I can’t allow.
Are you ready for...
The skies alive with flare.
Alone on the wall I stand.
The banner is in my hand.
Are you ready for the siege tonight?
We’re walking to victory.
