Poems about Fire
#fire
Beauty and danger, poems about fire use flames and fire as inspiration, warmth, fantasy and metaphor in poetry.
Morbid Tales
When fire leaps from the northern mountain
roaring hellfire awaits
servants of sorcery
diabolical
rage on the heavens
the rites of their crosses
smashed down
the pentagram burns bright
darkness shall be eternal

I burned that f**ker down
I finally did it.
Took all the napalm stored up in my heart --
the apologies, the fears
the pleas, the tears
the sleepless nights
the silent fights
confessions, concessions
questions and obsessions
childhood trauma
relationship drama
petty suspicions
demands and conditions
intrusive thoughts
oughts and naughts
accusations
intimidations
myth and mystery
ancient history
wounds and scars
snuffed out stars
bad excuses
old abuses
daddy issues
bloody tissues --

Arsonist Dream
I watch the world
Fall as ashes
Back onto itself
Smothering the past
Ambling on remains
Shame unavoidable
Footprints walk ahead
Doom already set
My last belonging
An itchy match
Alone
Longing to be scratched
Fall as ashes
Back onto itself
Smothering the past
Ambling on remains
Shame unavoidable

you’re made of fire and i’m carbon dioxide
engulfed in radiant vermillion
our burning fate is sealed
you’re pyromanic
and i’m co2
what does that yield?
set me on fire
and take me away
our potential energy
at a nuclear stage
free me me from all
for which i fail to say
a blazing regret
that i cannot contain
in a clever flare,
your love burns away
our sparks ignite;
only to fade.

Still
Beneath the sun there
Is darkness still
Between the embers
There is warmth
Underneath your eyes
There is burden
Before death
There is still time
And between your lips
There is no lies
The birds still chirp
In mourning
The tide still
Sees the shore
Between us
There is nothing
Yet your desire
Has despair in store
Is darkness still
Between the embers
There is warmth

The Lit Taper
The lone candle does burn
sharing all that it will learn
in a soft golden glow
revealing all that I must know
About how a single spark
can vanquish all of the dark
warm the coldest night
inspiring the deepest write
Casting shadows on the page
unveiling secrets of this age
so that only I may see
what truth lies in front of me
While I watch the wax melt
again feel every feeling felt
reaching deep inside
to confront all that I do hide
Spill this ink without doubt ...

Firestorm
Firestorm
Firestorm from heaven
Dances blue flame heart song
In blue avalanche eyes that tear through pretense
With supernova gaze into the soul of schoolboys
Whose hearts pound the literature of her book
Of spells that hex them into the heart of love
As they firewalk on her red hot coals
That burn like a solar flare aimed at their hearts
To singe their root with velvet fury
When her bonfire incinerates all chains
That bound them to the man of yesterday
While they orbit her like moths to a lamp
But her glow falls like...

You are the fire, a radiant blaze,
Kindling passion in a thousand ways.
Your touch, electric, sets my heart aglow,
Your voice, a siren's call, it does bestow.
Your smile, a sunbeam that lights my world,
Your lips, like velvet, their secrets unfurled.
Together we burn, a flame untamed,
Desire and longing, forever unnamed.
I offer my all, heart and soul intertwined,
In unity, our spirits forever aligned.
Like blossoming lotuses, we rise above,
A love so pure, a testament to love.
You are my everything, my reason to...

Rekindled Fire
The predawn day is still dark
as I now stack these sticks
carefully inside these bricks
then strike this first struck spark
Watching the fingery flame ignite
make its crackling sound
a renewed warmth is found
within this waning winter night
As ancient tales from old
join me as they now conspire
recalling the strings of the lyre
I recite epic poems once told
How the courageous heart
can again win every day
set out upon the truest way
ending all evils before they start
Meanwhile these flames...

I Made Fire
Yesterday, I ignited a flame,
In the woods where I had lost my way.
The chill of the hike didn't cause me distress,
A touch of rust, not worried, I must confess.
Awaiting rescue from the wild I braved,
The fire's warmth sparked thoughts, and I craved
To glimpse prehistoric life's ancient lore,
Imagining the first touch, what it held in store.
Picture the awe of mortal mankind's first fire,
From peril to power, a transformative desire.
In the dance of flames, nature harnessed and tamed,

Ablazement
So, what to call a wildfire flame
when there is no one left to blame
for lighting the first match
for igniting the last dead patch
Setting the forest fire free
letting it again illuminate me
with all of its heat and light
elucidating this endless night
Since everything I have learned
came from having everything burned
burnt down to the very ground
without ever having made a sound
While I once again do recall

Gathering Firewood
I set out into the woods
in search of these kindled goods
dead branches and sticks
for this old fireplace of bricks
Longing to set them ablaze
drift into a smoky haze
where memories still bloom
to warm any drafty cold room
So I carry them in my arms
while the deep forest charms
with these tall leafless trees
whistling in this December breeze
Far from the bustling crowds
the sun veiled by pale clouds
I revel in now being alone
taking in all I have been shown
Finally I turn back for home ...
in search of these kindled goods
dead branches and sticks
for this old fireplace of bricks
