No Afterlife
this sounds sad
& it probably is
but i see life as
an endless road
of suffering and
Death as relief
years ago i saw
my GP she said
she believes that
we have to work
harder after we're
dead, well damn it
it made me ponder
what if i meet my
parents up there
the people who
almost drove me
to commit suicide
& i can't kill myself
cause i already died
& it probably is
but i see life as
an endless road
of suffering and
Death as relief

The Clock and The Ferryman
What price will i pay
As the Ferryman rows
He accepts my coin
my purse feels light
i am apportioned
my number of minutes
How did i use them
i won’t be spared
The greatest equalizer
Row Ferryman, row
The clock advances
The ticking seems louder
Am i afraid?
Only, for whom i’ve offended
As the Ferryman rows
He accepts my coin
my purse feels light
i am apportioned
my number of minutes
How did i use them
i won’t be spared
The greatest equalizer
Row Ferryman, row
The clock advances
The ticking seems louder
Am i afraid?
Only, for whom i’ve offended

it's just f**ked up...
I'm trying to wrap my head around the injustice
having to bury one of the best of us
no matter which way I look at it
I find no acceptable answers
I confess...
I am f u r i o u s
I'm devastated
& there's no sense to the madness
that one so loved & so selfless
devoting his existence to compassionate giving
should be so cruelly taken
only visted now in a grave
an eternally cold & silent space
for such a warm & loving being
this is a reality
I simply cannot embrace
it comes...
having to bury one of the best of us
no matter which way I look at it
I find no acceptable answers
I confess...

Fatso...
I'm in a world without you.
It grows darker as I age.
I'm not the same without you.
These are my lonliest days.
I'm not happy thinking about you.
Your thoughts are no longer sunny rays.
I'm just sitting here without you.
Your presence slowly fades.
I don't want to live in a world without you.
I don't want to forget your simple gaze.
I don't want to think of you not being here.
My mind is useless if you don't stay.
Its not a world without you.
It will never be the same.
I hope your happier without me.

Death
In the womb
of death
I shall slumber
like a baby,
surrounded by an amniotic
ocean of serenity.
Learn, grow, develop
in my waking,
and be nourished through
the umbilical cord
connected to the spiritual realm
until
I'm ready for rebirth
Ready to experience
heaven 'n' hell
again...

and as
i lay
taking
my last
breath,
of course
death came
to me,
and whispered
in my
ear all
the answers
to questions
about why
we
were here
and what
life was
supposed
to be
about.

Devoured of The Flesh
Washed-out bones in the charnel house smell of
decay on the sheets dripping from a condom since
you left where the dead have lost their souls
in the dark's obliteration of broken bones devoured
of the flesh but remembered in the bosom of my
heart abandoned by the maggots that feast in the
arroyo of cracked embryos
decay on the sheets dripping from a condom since
you left where the dead have lost their souls
in the dark's obliteration of broken bones devoured
of the flesh but remembered in the bosom of my

Made It To Thursday
No, Elaine.
You can't come in the bathroom.
I've soiled myself.
I told you last year
that you'd never see me like this.
Please, go on to bed
while I clean myself up.
I will then go rest on the couch
and see you in the morning.
The coffee will wake me up.
I promise.
Think of it as practice.
Probably soon,
you'll be sleeping alone for good.
Remember last Friday,
we thought I was a goner.
And the boys came over
when you called them.
I heard y'all, as I woke up.
I love you...

Queen B...
Queen B I bow unto the world for all to see
French Haitian Creole bloodlines defines royalty created within me
Sitting upon the throne of my wondrous melanin gifts
Kisses you dare to dream upon as you serenade the softness of my scarlet painted lips
Beguiling, as you glance upon the sashay of my curvaceous hips
Ancient rites, I seductively dance for you to commence the night
My soft orb touches, the ecstasy of my scepter, intoxicating asked in the veil of midnight
Sweeten honey drips from the sacredness of my alluring crown ...

A Sunset, A Passing and Remembrance
our youthful steps printed on the sand
when we wandered on this beach
we were young and invincible
youth upon our wings we dared to soar
we wandered watching many sunsets
admiring the hues of the sky
reflecting on the sea in many colours
we walked, sharing our dreams
we made promises never to forget
the times together cups of tea
shared on tables with scrabble blocks
crumbs of biscuits on table cloth
death a thief stole your golden days
life that led us in its winding highways
parted us in crossroads...
