The 50th Anniversary of Jack Benny's Death
He brought laughter and he was important to many.
He died fifty years ago and his name was Jack Benny.
Mel Blanc appeared quite often on Jack's show.
At the age of eighty, it was Benny's time to go.
If Jack had died one day earlier, he would've died on Christmas Day.
He was a very talented individual who died half a century ago today.
Jack was an actor and it's an actor's job to pretend.
He went into a coma before he died and it was sad because it was the end.

Give Yourself to Love with thanks to Kate Wolf
Give yourself to love
If love is what you're after
Open up your heart
To the tears and laughter” Kate Wolf
Embrace the joys and pain
If growth is what you seek
Let go of all your fears
Just surrender when you’re weak
Give yourself to love
Trust in the journey's turn
We fall within the spell of lust
And let our spirits burn
When my final breath has come,
And my lusting flesh has ceased.
Scatter my ash across the sands
As all memories find release.
If love is what you're after

Numb Misery
The drink calls for me
Whispering calming release
The bitter always present
An attempt to hide with sweet
The cravings will not cease
A desire for the turmoil to relent
Her voice, once strong in memory
Fading into my own, holding on
To the honeyed words spoken
Once to be light and feathery
Now to be labored and gone
My spirit feels so broken
Do you know what she would say?
Every holiday when asked
What gift she seeks?
"You" she'd convey
"In that dress" said at last ...

Merry Christmas
Everyone wants to live forever
Trying to avoid the great unknown
Castles of silver, streets of gold
The doubts permeate your mind
Was I good enough to make it in
Or was my life to abundant with sin
Will I rise up to the heavens
Or fall to that boiling lake of fire
Will I come back as a butterfly
Or a pig fattened for slaughter
Maybe there's nothing
Spirits floating around with
Zero, zilch, nada to do
Or maybe I could be stuck in purgatory
With noone to free me
If I am reincarnated
I'd want to be a cow in...

May I Never Wither
All beauty is fleeting!
May I never wither with age,
But die while still filled with life
And its sultry desires.
Gazing down at our union,
I gasp with delight,
Grateful that my journey
Has not yet found its end.
There will be ample time
For solitude in the grave.
Time for worms to savor
My promiscuous remains.
This body, so easily surrendered
To the sweetest of pleasures,
Will, in time, return to dust.
Yet, for a season, I’ll live on
In the cherished memories ...

It Wasn't A Wonderful Life
Some people were upset and they said it was unfair.
George Bailey killed old man Potter and he went to the electric chair.
George discovered that the eight thousand was stolen by Potter.
George became enraged and he was angry enough to slaughter.
George went to Potter's house with his gun and he shot him through the heart.
As they strapped George to the electric chair, he knew his decision wasn't smart.
George refused to have his head shaven and his hair burst into flames.
Poor George truly became a hot head and he only had himself to blame.

the rabBIT hole
Down into the hollow....
Where no one else will follow.
Where no one else will know.
Somewhere deeper than below.
That's where you'll find me.... grasping!
Within me, my Spiritual self, gasping....
For the real me, & for air....
But time, & again there is nobody, & there is nothing there.
That's when I start to free fall.
That's when I can hear my God, beginning to call.
But I've abandoned "nearly" all control....
Traveling once more, down that same old rabBIT hole.

I Saw My Corpse
I saw it everywhere I went,
Haunting my life,
A lure inviting me
To seek relief.
I saw it dismembered,
Lifeless and broken,
Beneath the big rig,
Lost pieces scattered beyond repair.
I saw it inert,
Drowned, inhaling water,
Pulled down the dark,
Sunken deep, far from saving.
I saw it ashen,
Amidst a red, clotted lake
With a knife held close,
Slipping into slumber, beyond awakening.
I saw it fallen,
From the steep peak
Into the hollow chasm,

When The Cops Showed Her A Video
Poor
Mom was
really
heartbroken when
the cops showed her a
video of Carol
naked and letting some guy
hump her before he picked up a
sharp push dagger and shoved that blade deep
into Carol a total of ten times.

To Nathan
I think about you sometimes and
it’s all too clear you’re probably dead.
You weren’t an icon of stability
back when we used to speak,
your bald and elongated skull
reminding me of a criminal
my mother used to know
(not to use phrenology).
You wrote dark poetry
and were the reason why
the underground started to give
warnings of extreme themes.
If I was older then I might
have been more curious
and asked the pertinent questions,
less wrapped up in my own traumas.
I thought perhaps some scary man ...

What is left
Sometimes I don't know
What keeps me here
What tortures me enough to stay
I can't tell what I am anymore
A roll of flesh
Wanting nothing more than decay
To be consumed by earths hunger
or
A demon devouring itself away?
What keeps me here
What tortures me enough to stay
I can't tell what I am anymore
A roll of flesh
Wanting nothing more than decay
