A Daughter Drifting
In the quiet of her daughter’s bedroom, she sat with shades drawn.
Looking down at her hands she questioned God.
How does a treasure, so fiercely guarded, slip through open fingers?
The lips of my child that once whispered prayers at this bedside
now give pleasure to the unworthy. How can flesh of my flesh
yield with such ease to the fickle dance of an adolescent boy’s desire?
What were her prayers at the moment of his coming? Were they
prayers for grace or of thanksgiving?
Did she feel pleasure or sadness?

The Value of Self Knowledge
As I apply for a scholarship
To pay the intuition
For a well established
State Institution,
I’m reminded by a puff of smoke
Entering the hippocampus
That such thoughts
Must share a dorm
Meant for dueling patience.
Majoring in substance abuse,
Your councilor suggests
Laying off the hard stuff.
Bit on the nose
But you take her advice
Trading DSM-5 for
An anonymous substitute.
“Study for your UA?”
Balked the TA.
“Not Today,”

Should have went with your gut
A boy and a girl from the university drive home through a bad part of town at night
She told him to go this way,
claiming this was a shortcut to the neighborhood
He didn't agree but listened to her anyway
At a stop light, a rock smashes their windshield
The girl is startled
The guy gets out of the car and takes a look around
There is a gunshot
The bullet goes into his left thigh
He screams and falls down
Two teenagers approach the car
They shoot the boy one more time
This shot is the fatal one
Right between the eyes

Everything is Important
(and Nothing is More Important Than Everything)
Given the calculations and parameters I’ve set within time limits and resources
I am lacking in the stimulus and motivation to continue my education
Presently as my overall health and condition has been in a slow decline for years
It is no excuse to place a mental obstacle rendering me to a state of obfuscation
With that in mind, a fear of success has created a parabolical intellectual block
Anticipating a physical exhaustion with a rather unreal anxiety of the unknown

Fear of Success
I had thought about returning to college for several years
But the fear of success had kept me in the dark for a while
“It’s too difficult, I’m too old, I don’t have the money or time”
All the excuses I had in my mind filled my heart with anxiety
But for far too long I was feeling I had hit a glass ceiling
The lack of a degree kept my career stalled or at a stand still
Until one day I decided to go back to the old campus
Seeing the buildings and students gave me an old thrill
So that day, standing there on the university campus

I walked outside and found you
I found you'd already left me
But soon I’d be joining you in the sky

It was the day of nine o’clock G.C.S.E math’s exam. We lined up outside the lunch hall like conscripts awaiting basic training. The black painted mesh of the bike shed was flaking. I picked at it. There are many types of stock pots and even crock pots, but, use them according to the quantity of food within size there of. This one I'm about to discuss is the Imusa Pot 32qt. Pot. Here's ingredients needed for this ah cool!
Ingredients:
(80) 4LB. Pack of Hamhocks(Pork Hocks)
40 Green Cabbages
1 sharp knife, 1 cutting board(LARGE),

A couple of brief reflections,
one prosaic, one poetic.

I grew up in a deprived seaside area, a town where all the county councils dumped their human refuse, so to speak, meaning in effect that we had a lot of mercenaries, untreated psychiatric patients, and even sexual offenders wandering around. The sort of place where you’d sit in McDonald’s and the mothers in the next booth would point at a man walking past and say “he’s a paedo”, or “he deals drugs.”
