Thirtieth
Sitting here pondering my thirtieth,
When I feel as if 50 lifetimes have passed
Just in the last decade
No one tells you when you leave home
What you must forfeit
Not that I would have made a different decision
But maybe I would have not done them so quietly
So independently
It’s lonely to know no one has known you in all of your phases
Only parts of what you understood at that time
some villainess, some heroic
Most not even knowing yourself
Or what you long for
Or what you’re trying to find
What is authenticity ...

Practical Joke?
Someone handcuffed & gagged me to a chair
I believe I was drugged
I have no food & water
I'm in a room I don't recognize
I try & escape
It's no use
Someone comes into the room and yells HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!
A bunch of other people make their way into the room
They're all blowing into party favors and balloons are all around
I don't recognize any of them
It's not my birthday
One person says to another
That's not Tim
We have the wrong person
How could this be?

Your death came as a surprise, it certainly wasn't foretold.
If you hadn't died, today you would've turned 76 years old.
I learned that you were terminal shortly before you died.
When your life ended, people were sure to be misty-eyed.
If you were still alive, I'd be spending your birthday with you.
When I say that you had love and respect, it is certainly true.
If you hadn't died, today you would be eating your birthday cake.
When I found you dead, it was almost too much for me to take.
Your death was upsetting, painful and very hard for me to face. ...

Ten Years of Posting to The Day
Ten years of words
Ten years of rain
Ten years spent absurd
Ten venting in vain
Ten minutes of joy reigning
Then ruled by another
Ten years of pens smothered
Ten years of keys covered in
Grease and tears
From my veins weeping
Ten years with very few brothers,
friendless
Years flew by,
at times seemingly endless
and still my word relentless
Picked up the passion to pen while cutting grass
where a mind does wander
I imagine some of the greatest lines
come from fishers and...
