Going Cuckoo!
Tick tock
Went the old grandfather clock
At the same time as a cock
Went cockledoodledoo
Tick tock went the old clock
As the cock
Went tick tock too
Whilst a different clock
Simply went cuckoo!

Summer
The earth felt massive yet motionless.
When my heart twists and hurts lie.
But clouds in secret shapes still crawl bye.
Some in a wispy angel divine.
Hard flapping at the feeder.
The smaller the bird,
the more voracious an eater.
We should be devouring
all those little things, gloriously sweeter.
The brightest of sun rests her rays
silently knowing the stifling sorrow it slays.
We noticed the female cardinal has a scarlet head.
Decorated messengers from beyond the dead.
Is a bird's flight planned?
Like scurrying...

Nature Moving
One only waxes poetic,
Recounting nature's perfect kinetics.
Uses only immaculate phrasing,
To emphasise how amazing,
The stems, heavy hips.
The dropping of honey drips,
From the honeycomb,
That it's swaying whips.
The bee, hovers over, with power.
But gentle, goes into her flower.
The plosion of pollen.
What remains, the wind devours.
The cyrsos that conceals
A mirage that is real.
In flutters, her wings are spread,
A sensuous reveal

The Feeder
The bird feeder was the it place to be.
When filled with a simple yet glorious feast.
The fluttering wings of the landing birds,
brings hurting hearts a silent joy.
Acrobatic whirling & flapping,
the birds are happy and coy.
Rogue birds on the porch table
devouring stray food.
A full bird is one with nothing to brood.
Should become a human mood.
And below two cloud colored bunnies gather.
Around two squirrels enigmatic pursuit.
A hurting heart would rather,
loosen a root to the pain.
Let the natural world...

The Woodpeckers
two brothers in a distant woodland lived
a bird duke named Sir Woody Woodpecker
and his handsome brother Wordy
but all they did was bicker
they used to share a nest
with their tired exhausted parents
were they glad when the brothers flew
Mr and Mrs Woodpecker celebrated with many pints
The two brothers didn't see eye to eye
they couldn't agree on anything
they fought noisily, with much enmity
they slapped each other with their wings
Woody the noble was very nice
believed in joy and love and endless embrace ...

Just Be
There was a lurid green sheen
to the ancient creek.
Sweetly haunted by
the secret summer reflections
of the leaves.
The sunbeams form brilliant white ripples
on the surface of the cool languid water.
What a perfect location for peace to loiter.
The gliding geese pepper the creek,
a visual feast of their natural pageantry.
I decided to just be.
In the moment.
In the immediate journey.
Let past and future worries flee.

How Rude
Seagulls dancing
In the greying night sky
Flying high
Amongst the darkening clouds
Rocking it
Screeching
Screaming
Swearing
Shitting
On all those
Unfortunate to be
Or not
In their line of fire
They have no desire
Other than
To steal our food
How rude!

not an owl (but a crow)
i once had
a pet crow
that would
sit high up
in a tree
and thought
himself
to be
an owl,
because
after he flew
into a limb,
he developed
amnesia,
someone
jokingly
convinced
him that he
was an owl,
not a crow.

Zenith of Zen
The crow perched at the crest of the tree.
Is in constant scrutiny of human monotony.
The robin wearing an auburn breast
hops along more casually.
The starling tucked in the leafy branch squawked.
Of his pipedream of being a hawk.
Life seems to just effortlessly transpire.
As if nothing is right and nothing is wrong.
Agonized thoughts seem a little less diar.
While nature's bursting with jubilant song.
When it hurts to be human,
Seek the natural world,
The zenith of zen.
Is in constant scrutiny of human monotony.

the eagle
watch the
powerful wings
unfold,
following wind
hard
and steep,
his voice
shattering
the silence,
to heights
and caress
the sacred
fire,
the secrets
of his
heart,
he possesses
the sufficient
amount
to remain
free.

The Seagull Poet
Out of the shadows
Hatched in a Nest
And into the light
Of the goldfish bowl
Have stayed, at the Stade
As seagulls wade
As the seas wave
From across the pebbly beach
By the fishing huts
And boats by their side
And cliff railways
And castle ruins
Where-in Hastings history lies
As new histories begin
Even as we perform
Reflections of our lifes
Interpretations of the norm
Squawk! screech! squawk!
Said the seagull poet
He's after your food
And don't you just know it
But i look to the tumbling...

Fatuous illation

Fatuous illation
Damn Nesting Owls won’t shut up so I can think!
& now the Cooper’s Hawks are awake!
Difficult to spit out Day 28’s poem
all this racket goin’ on just outside my door
Don’t get me wrong, as I do adore
them Bird’s of Prey
the sounds they make
the rodent control
but the din early in the morning
when I am trying to think?!
Great
Now ALL the Birds are awake!
