A Day Without Sun
I despise this wretched place
Where the sky forever heralds light
Sunbeams scorch and burn my face
A relentless, golden blight
I yearn for cold shade
The solace of shadowed rule
Umbral waters I'd wade
Immersed in its Cimmerian pool
I pray for the sun’s dying breath
For Nox to reign and smother more
Yet I know I plead in vain with death
This battle is lost, this endless war
From this cursed, red-dusted soil
I call to the night for its start
To end this gleaming, sky-lit boil
Return my race's starborne...
Where the sky forever heralds light

Avant Fantasia Nox
Lo, 'twas in dream’s abyssal shade I stray’d
Where no sun’s fair hand the dark allay’d
A vast and formless void did yawn
Bereft of stars, nor heralded dawn
Yet in that gloom, a beauty dire did dwell
A chasm deep, an unspoken spell
A melody strange, unearthly and dread
By mortal ear ne’er safely read
The air did quiver thick with might
Aether’s breath, both sweet and blight
Forms unshapen in the murk did glide
Neither flesh nor spirit, but worlds beside
Most who glimpse such alien grace
Would flee in haste...

15 billion miles from Earth
My son sits and wonders what’s beyond the universe
A bunny hops into the grass and we laugh and giggle
I think my son can be an Astronaut for Ages
We stare at the sky sometimes I don’t know why
We watch 3 crows chase a bigger Hawk
We always appreciate the beauty of nature
Go in the back yard pitch baseballs in the net
As we do, me and you are like me,we are on a string
See bumble bees times two buzzing around us
So we throw the ball back and forth ...

Melding metal 400000
Putting a bearing on smooth rails
Precision sailing through Panama Canal
Brush the mirror into completion
Possessive in me 200 inch disk
5 tons of glass 2 millionths of an inch perfection
Pause before barbarity task of polishing
Job is done on Mount Palomar telescoping me
Saw the life and death of stars I’m one of them
Capabilities within you it amazes me
Hubb has seen 12 billion light years in front of us

A chasm yawns, where silence spreads
No star doth shine, nor time can cling
In the place where black stars hang, unseen
Aether’s breath, cold and thin
Cradles neither life nor sin
No gods dwell here, nor demons scheme
Only the void’s eternal dream
The winds do howl, though none draw near
A dirge of forms we dare not hear
Shapes unbidden, unseen, yet felt

Not fangs, nor claws, nor serpents hiss

A black star hangs, unblinking, cursed

Who are we, lost in the vastness?
Sailing on seas without a compass.

Under The Eyes of A Snake Moon
Yon moon doth split in twain
Two lights like eyes of fate
A serpent’s gaze, so cold, so vain
That stirs the midnight late
Two spheres of piercing white
O’er heavens dark and still
Mark where death takes flight
With cold and ancient will
The stars doth hide in fear
The night doth choke with dread
For all beneath its baleful leer

Shadow Pierced Chaos
From depths where order breaks
And chaos first was born
A shadow wakes and shakes
In darkness, swift and sworn
It pierces through the night
With tendrils long and cold
Unseen by mortal sight
Yet ancient as the old
No star can quell its march
No flame can burn it back
It strides beneath the arch
Where time itself does crack
The undying shadow grows

Its strength no limit knows
Nor chain to hold it bound

In circles thrice entwined
By sacred numbers torn
The Nine and Seven bind
Where stars are now forlorn
Unholy shapes are cast
In Fivefold glyphs of woe
The heavens turn at last
And to the Void they go
By crooked angles made
The Six betrays the light
Its secrets now displayed
In patterns bent by night
The stars, devoured whole
In thirteens they collapse
A darkness takes its toll
And snaps their cosmic lapse
The diviner counts the lines
In symbols traced by Three
