Defining the Difference
she gazed uncomprehending
at the star stuck on the arrow
stopped sharply from falling
to the flooded ground below
the twinkles from the sky's gone
the greyness seems permanent
no subtle colours between the tone
and rainbows struggle not to be alone
relax inhale and exhale
stop stay in one place
drifting in boats without sails
is not an epitome of peace
breathe...

Insanity a la carte
Glimmering beneath a sheen,
where shadows dance in whispers, unseen.
Veiled chaos, finely painted dreams,
in the cracks madness gleams.
Fragile echoes in twilight's embrace,
haunting glimpses of a fractured face.
Silent screams, behind polished walls,
in the stillness a storm calls.
Beneath the surface, turmoil brews.
Masked by a gloss of tranquil hues.
In the heart, a restless fire,
burning with unspoken desire.
Mirrored reflections, distorted and clear,
a dance with demons ever near.
Eyes that...

The walk home...
There's a cool breeze...
chilling me to the bone...
it's gonna rain tonight...
I'm walking home cause -
I've only pennies in my pocket.
I just want my lumpy bed.
Severe weather just ahead.
I know the way all too well.
I've walked these streets...
...for a long long time...
to just the edge of the ghetto -
at the start of rampant crime!
I'll sleep good tonight...
If I make it home.
I've got a pack of ramen...
and some cheese crackers...
waiting home patiently...for me.
...where i wanna be... ...
chilling me to the bone...

panic attack
I try and box breathe around
a mouthful of biscuit
without inhaling any crumbs
It hits just like that
skin flushing
burning
telling me I'm on fire
when I'm not
My chest tells me I can't breathe
when I can
and I have to breathe past
the way my throat lies
telling me there's no air available
to fill my distressed lungs
According to my brain
literally everything
is trying to kill me
including the multivitamin
I got down milliseconds
before this freight train ...
a mouthful of biscuit
without inhaling any crumbs
It hits just like that

Unrecognizable home
The night smothered the day
And enveloped us with its madness
Driven by insecurities
And the unknown
Life has become unrecognizable
And this home, a stranger
Change is harsh
But also inevitable
Where do we go from here?
Live our lives in tears
Or try to see
Our reality a little more clear
It's lonesome in a way
To be driven from your home
Like some forgotten spellbound song
From a friend long ago
The die has been cast...
