Poems Inspired by William Butler Yeats

I question myself, am I fit to love
does love indeed fit in me?
The question floods my mind
with answers not forthcoming.
Love’s not found unless love is sought.
Search the world for that princess true
Your fate, her fate become one fate.

Love is such a winding path, through
times both good and bad, it’s
course unknown, the direction blind.
But begin I must, begin in this
adolescent fog to feel my way
for certainty that comes with love.
and perhaps answer my own
question  of why. And how?

I will return,
as some brambly fiend towards Bethlehem,
to
this as I know it
To the words
The art
To my freakself
An internal dream
of self recognition

I can no longer attempt
these pretensions of a person
left long ago
behind
I never really was
Never known
Never lived
Just another internal dream
with a nightmare monologue
and none of the recognition

I will return to the freewild
exuberance
unhinged & unhemmed
uninterrupted & uninhibited
& unhip ...
