Alabaster memories afloat
Before my gaze
Circumspectly a buried quote
Displays
Evermore I’m drawn to you
Fascinated at best
Gaudy hopes purposely accrue
Harvest
Innermost temptation spurs
Jittery along their cracks
Kindled overdue whispers
Lacks
Madness sweeps around my stoop
Needles prick my rind
Obscenities must fly the coupe
Peace of mind
Quality rivers flow
Reprimanded by my fears
Sadness pleads my plateau

Unfathomable desires dance

Brass Ring
You there on the carousel
never believing in the brass ring
I only wanted the best for you
and that just wasn't me
My angel since the second grade
so gentle and soft spoken
always chose the harshest men
that left you bruised and broken
It has been thirty years
since last I saw your face
that never really bothers me
my heart still holds your place
So as you spin around a world
never including me
I will always love you
sincerely, your brass ring
never believing in the brass ring

Morning Dew
The morning dew bathes her feet
robed in melancholy draped over her
shoulders, she faces the dawn
Beneath she is naked, save for the
regrets that make for her daily adornments
a sorrow reflects from within kind eyes and
I see myself in them
Inmy dream she is bloodied
her feet torn from the eggshells
blood running down her back where
she surrendered angelic wings because
"he loved her"
I would give my life to restore her
to show her love was meant to give, not take
seeing the woman...

Speaking In Tongues
A crow came to cackle and I ignored what he had to say
Two more came and I quickly turned the other way
Time passed ... worlds and minds changed ... stars aligned
Now 30 more were alit at my door begging I heed their signs
Is the spell ending?
Or another beginning?
I feel weak and used
Too tired for thinking
To cast my dice carelessly in open air?
To lay my head down upon your soft breast?
To find peace in the scent of your silken hair?
To find my heart beating once more in my aching chest?

swore to myself
I won't fall for your pleadings

Play it again sam.
She strode in, lighting the room.
Noticing her immediately.
A jolt went thought me.
I froze as she waved at me.
Or perhaps to the guy sitting next to me.
I waved back in silence.
Avoiding eye contact.
As I'd been advised to do.
Definitely not speak to her in any way.
Told this would upset her so.
Avoidance & silence the strategic way.
Downward gaze as i passed her to the bar.
In the toilet had a breakdown.
Strong sense of mutual...

Asymmetrical
Contorted reasoning
with an assorted seasoning
of flavored bullshit.
I tried to savor it as it hit.
Alas, ignorance was bliss.
Your traveling kisses
believed to be wholesome,
delivered too late; I succumbed.
Knelt with tears seeping
through my fingers, keeping
what was left of me whole.
Strikes against my soul.
Still, I felt hopeful, so I waited
while good memories faded.
Eventually revealing
that we were not healing.
I softly inhaled, then a hard sigh
because you never even tried.
with an assorted seasoning
