Road to Nowhere
Time passes by so slow it's a wonder it ever comes at all
Just yesterday you left, I know - still see you in my mind
It's only temporary, or so that's what we both agreed
But hearts have a way of changing beats and fate can intervene
Tryin' to find my way along this road of make-believe
Searchin' for the truth, should I believe these things I feel?

Like a weighted blanket in the middle of the night.
The kind that seeps into a Sunday,
When the sun hits your shared coffee mugs just right.
The grocery run where his hand grazes yours,
And your heart skips like it’s never been touched that gently before.
The kind that leaves echoes.

pictured your face in my mind
that my brain still interprets as friend
though stranger is more accurate
I told my boyfriend I missed you
and he looked at me curiously
and asked why we aren't friends anymore
I didn't really need to answer
all three us know
exactly when you chose
to stop picking up my phone calls
and I can't even hate you for it ...

Secret gardens
The secret gardens of my mind
Are not for everyone to find
If I let you through my gate
Please don’t let it be my mistake
The way I love is too fierce for some
Can’t handle being my moon and sun
I see your armour just like mine
Built from being broken down the line
The strength in me would be your shield
Our souls will fix the breaks we both feel
We would make love like the beasts we hide
This fire in us no one could divide
Two people cursed by feeling all so deep
Yet this yearning is my secret to keep

as she looks exhausted
