“CEO of our parent company
is coming for a visit”
when? I don't know.

all day we play a game of, “who can it be?”
a contest made more difficult
by our lunchtime clientele
primarily IBM Engineers
and Executive in business apparel
a “Thomas Crown Affair (ish)” deception mess

I, leader of the garden department crew,
returning to my domain
when I spy a customer
shopping for a hummingbird feeder
“Can I help you sir?” I say

it isn't a reflection of your worth
merely a shift in their attention

& their time no longer required

if your place in their priorities

don't assume it's anything you...
they show you

Accepting My Fate

I had it all wrong
what if it's all part of our making
how we learn...or not...
& what we take from our damage
what we do with it
hiding...or embracing
because I...
I fell...
with all the exuberance of youth
absolutely blind belief in the power of love
...thought it embodied something magical
as I swam in the seas of his eyes
not noticing how shallow they really were
or how their turbulence swallowed me up ...

Far Away, I Am Free
A young girls fantasy
becomes
A grown woman’s sadness
How warped fate can be
To twist and knot a dream
Euphoric beginnings eroded
Daily, the grind of merely existing
I long to run
Yet, maps are obsolete and
Siri didn’t understand my request
Fancy language and scripted fonts
Do little to assuage this emptiness
Bards of yesteryear are mute
To the very thing I need to hear
I don’t know where to go?

Here I am as I am a entity of strength and perseverance, still surviving just trying to take it one day at a time ⌚ For the elders say that we are the chosen ones who were chosen, because of our strength and courage and perseverance. TO lead as an example for the wolf pack through the process of our journeys and travels and walks. Quieting Void
I’ve let that flicker in my eyes die
with every hour I spent waiting
for someone else’s match to ignite mine,
until it burned me into ashes,
the flame faded,
and the match shriveled
into nothing.
The darkness welcomed me,
each time with no interlude.
Embracing what was left of me,
promising a way out of the matchbox,
a way to the quieting void.

I’m broken
Fractured in the place underneath the core
Where the structure of existence and foundation lie
Where the texture of abstract thought has torn
It’s the phase when faith and creed are shaken
Reveling in the freedom of what the revelation brought
Wrought ceaselessly by the eons of perilous times
When then the vain and futile plans have come to naught
It’s the sinister void of all reason and purpose
The rupture in the framework of the mind
Slivering away, slowly caving in, unreeling
Till all the unholy fears are lived...
