The Written Word
The page is blank to the naked eye
To mine it’s covered in scribbles
Notes and thoughts, ideas and stories
Somehow all connected to each other
Within that tangled mess of words
There’s a bridge of how we came to be
I can’t seem to link the arcs
For their movement eludes me
Maybe I’m blinded by love,
no~
I’m engulfed in rage
I need to make this plausible
Everything feels so relevant
None so meaningful as our story
To mine it’s covered in scribbles
Notes and thoughts, ideas and stories
Somehow all connected to each other
Within that tangled mess of words
There’s a bridge of how we came to be
I can’t seem to link the arcs
For their movement eludes me
Maybe I’m blinded by love,
no~
I’m engulfed in rage
I need to make this plausible
Everything feels so relevant
None so meaningful as our story

Quantum
all it took for me to fall in love
was one chance, miraculous moment,
coinciding quite nicely with
a random rainy Tuesday afternoon;
the rundown yet quaint bookstore
provided the perfect intersection
between your day and mine;
I never believed in divine timing
until our eyes boldly introduced us,
spilling all our best-kept secrets
across the gardening aisle -
it was the most holy thing I’ve felt;
I still ponder the magnitude
of that small moment, a tiny seed
containing finely-detailed blueprint,
the structure of time...

The Journey Within
Sometimes we look at the progress we’ve made
By looking at the things we were able to overcome
And sometimes we look back the road behind
Reflecting on the past so as to move forward
A thirty-day writing challenge is a journey within
It’s an exercise in indulgence and creativity
Setting personal goals of inspiration and discipline
So we can express ourselves honestly and freely
By looking at the things we were able to overcome
And sometimes we look back the road behind
Reflecting on the past so as to move forward
A thirty-day writing challenge is a journey within
It’s an exercise in indulgence and creativity
Setting personal goals of inspiration and discipline
So we can express ourselves honestly and freely

april songs (Theme 3): Attitudes of Life 10
april song 30—all my life (punto finale)
were all my days renumbered as the grains
of sand that on the ocean fringes pine,
i wonder what would be my remnant gains,
ere vibrant youth yields to life’s swift decline.
would all my lyrics wither with the dawn,
to cadence like the sacrificial fawn?
were all my life the lyrics of one poem
—a ballad of engaging latitude—
whose metaphors compelled bright stars to know ’em,
would death accord a lither attitude
to destinies my journey must fulfil
before earth silence...
were all my days renumbered as the grains
of sand that on the ocean fringes pine,
i wonder what would be my remnant gains,
ere vibrant youth yields to life’s swift decline.
would all my lyrics wither with the dawn,
to cadence like the sacrificial fawn?

to destinies my journey must fulfil

Letter to Me
You don’t have to earn it.
Not by impressing people
with your heartfelt writing or singing
your physical feats or keen observations
Not by making them laugh
with your silliness and charm
Not by helping them out
with your professional competence
or deep-diving intellect.
You have all these things
(yes, you do)
but they are not tools
to earn love and value.
They are results of the fact
that love is already there.
Your only job
