That every touch just cuts your life now
Or is that what you fear?
Perhaps past gashes were too deep
Such that forever from them seeps
Only sad reminders?
Have my poor actions & reactions
Swallowed all your words; you shun
All hope of contact?
Did broken trust & boundaries crossed
Secure this absolute loss
Of you?
How can I prove I have changed?
Or am I self-deluded?
Can I ever earn a fresh new start?
Is our book concluded?

Corporate Shenanigans
It’s an upsetting thing looking back it now
I thought I was just doing my job
But those of us who worked in subprime lending
We were part of that predatory mob
I had access to so many files
But I was just a paper pusher in those days
Get it from one reviewer and then out to another
I never really questioned every bonus or raise
It was a like a freight train on speed
Eventually the steam for the company ran out
And there I was, jobless for a while
Unsure of how all of that came about
Later on as the entire world went...
I thought I was just doing my job

Enamored by the Façade
Maybe it was the inexperience of youth
That sometimes clouded my judgement
When I was enamored by the façade of what’s on the outside
I seemed to lack prudence and discernment
Yes it was love without a solid foundation
Lust sometimes tends heighten emotions without perception
And as the years passed I felt a disconnection
Unable to see the truth I too fell into a deception
But I wouldn’t listen to my intuition
I didn’t see what others saw for the sake of my enormous pride
And by the time I saw it I was too far in

the cook onboard
I had gone to sea as a gally boy it was the way
I could save money for a further education
and it so happened the ship was stuck on ice
In the Black Sea waiting for a Russian tugboat
to set us free.
the crew were an odd sort, they had survived
the war, but spent so long time on ships they
had no idea how to get home.
the officers were elderly men picked up from
the last chance saloon and since the ship was
dry they didn't chance it by going ashore
the cook was Swedish and the gayest man
I had ever...

Letting go of the anger and resentment toward someone else
