Did I so irreparably
Cut, break, sear, wound
Your heart, your trust,
Your friendship & your love
That you must seal yourself
Forevermore
From my awareness?
Every aspect of my being
Needs you
Seeks you
This hollowness grows in chronic pain
Of missing the everything of you
I live a life of halves
Ever since that briefly-found missing piece
Took flight on the breath
Of your last good-bye
What might I do to repair
This widening deepening rift?

My heart is too heavy
To cradle in words
They all crush and fail
Beneath this weight
Of hopelessly longing need
My heart is too heavy
For my heaving chest

Sweet Agony
Sitting in a darkened room thinking about you
Thinking about us and the history we have
Theres a part of me that loves you
Im feeling lost without your presence
My constant excuse and driving force has always been you
Everything that has gone bad in my life is your fault
Still I find myself in this moment wondering what you're doing
I want to know who you're with and have I lost you for good
I have found a real chance at happiness and peace
But its you that consumes my thoughts

Christmas has passed,
and the new year approaches.
I encroach upon you
with a belated text.
The pretext is the weather
to remind you
of everything we have been through.
The snow was our serenity.
Snowflakes fall, and I
want you to know that I walk
for blocks in the symphony
of the busy streets alone.
I have a bittersweet
but upbeat feeling reading your reply.

i tasted your memory
In the scent of the spring rains
Pouring
Sometimes blinding my view
Just as you flood my heart drifting all else
away
i tasted your memory
In the drip drip drip
of pieces I miss
from your now
The flavor was the breeze
traces of clouds long blown
Away

In the absences
When the clouds blocked the stars

Aurora
No northern lights for me
Beneath these northern skies tonight
Yet Nature’s wonder satisfies
Through crescent moon & endless stars
And dancing deep night visions
So will you be my aurora,
distant Love long missed,
and sit with me & sigh with me
Peaceful gratitude as nightly creatures sing
Their rhythms in the dark
Beneath aurora skies
Unseen
Beneath these northern skies tonight

We sleep in each other's beds
but never sleep together
and I miss the sound
of your sleepy exhale
and the way your dreams
speak their way into the world
that you don't remember
when you wake
You sleep better in my arms
the ease of my body
against yours
the comfort you need
when the day's been long
and life gets heavy
The smell of you
on my bedsheets
can't replace the warmth of you
and the feel of your hands
on my skin
just resting
We fuck in each other's...
but never sleep together
and I miss the sound
