Respite Under Arches
O house of splendor, temple divine
With vaults that in gilded radiance shine!
Thy arches soar, as prayers take flight
To pierce the veil of the eternal night
Thy pillars, twelve, as prophets of old
Proclaim the truths in stories told
Each stone a witness, each wall a creed
To Him who hath met our every need
The rose-hued glass, in splendor bright
Transforms the sun to heavenly light
Its beams cascade in hallowed streams
As angels sing of sacred dreams
The sacred font, in marble hewn
Doth whisper of the coming...
With vaults that in gilded radiance shine!
Thy arches soar, as prayers take flight
To pierce the veil of the eternal night
Thy pillars, twelve, as prophets of old
Proclaim the truths in stories told
Each stone a witness, each wall a creed

The Love I'm Seeking
I do not seek stone that is the Christians,
always holding so tightly to their doctrine,
ready to point out offense towards God.
Ready to give you verses and relay
"the truth."
I talked with one in particular,
and it was a disheartening experience.
I merely made a joke,
and he accused me of
offending his God.
Oh, dear Lord,
please tell me that love is more
than stone.
Please tell me I can still be special
and not a slave to ritual.
I must be free...
I have to be free!

Wanderings
Through barren wastes of ash and stone
The ascetic walked, in faith alone
The sun, a pyre, bled red and pale
As winds did wail a mournful tale
His flesh grew weak, his breath ran dry
Yet prayers rose up to pierce the sky
When from the dust a shadow loomed
A saintly corpse, from grave exhumed
Its bones did gleam with spectral fire
Its hollow eyes burned fierce, entire
“O pilgrim, lost in dread’s domain,
Rise now, and walk the path of pain”
Its voice was both a hymn and cry,
A beacon bright, yet sharp with...

Another World Away
As April's fingers curled around the stem of her wine glass, a delicate dance of trepidation raced in her mind. The rich red liquid swirled, catching the light, and with each gentle sip, she felt the warmth of the wine spread through her, like a secret being whispered from her lips down to her core.
April was short, no more than 5-feet with dark shoulder-length hair parted to one side. She wore black-rimmed glasses that seemed a size too large for her face. Her face was clear and pale with hardly any makeup. She wore a full-sleeved knee-length dress that made her look like a...

And The Dragon Fell
In visions dark, the heavens split
The dragon falls, by wrathful writ
Seven heads and ten horns laid bare
In numbers fierce and symbols rare
By sacred signs, his end is known
A mystery in stars was sown
Twelve radiant crowns on woman’s brow
The serpent waits, yet falters now
With sevenfold seals, the Lamb’s decree
A ciphered truth, a prophecy
Each symbol holds a hidden weight
And binds the beast to coming fate
A shape divine, a holy form
A wheel of fire, through stars is borne
Its angles traced by angels'...

An Angel and The Gallant
Upon a steed so swift and fair
A noble knight rode out with care
A helm of steel, a shield of might
He ventured forth in holy light
Then from the heavens, clear and bright
Came forth an angel, robed in white
With wings like dawn and eyes aflame
He called the knight by secret name
“Lo, knight of seven virtues true
Thine heart is pure, thine courage due
To lands afar, by holy grace
Thou shalt be guided in this race.”
With trumpet’s sound, and sword held high
The angel led him ‘neath the sky
They crossed...

Mysteries of The Ascension
High in the heavens, past earth's dim sight
Where clouds and stars embrace the light
The Lord arose, in holy guise
Beyond the reach of mortal eyes
What mystery binds His upward way
As angels sing and watch and pray?
What secrets lie in heaven’s span
Unknown to dust-bound heart of man?
The stones bear witness, cold and clear
To steps that vanish from us here
While faith and wonder rise above
To realms unseen, in perfect love
Did angels lift His form on high
Or light itself dissolve the sky?
Did winds...

Where saints did sing
And angels sighed
Now shadows cling
Where light has died
Once, walls of gold
And domes of flame
Held prayers untold
In Heaven’s name
But silent now
These arches weep
In solemn vow
In hollowed sleep
The Theotokos
In sorrow’s grace
Her gaze bestows
Upon this place
O voices lost
Return once more
Bring back the cost
Of faith and lore
For I would rise
In hymn and light
To pierce the skies
And end this night
And angels sighed
Now shadows cling
Where light has died
Once, walls of gold
And domes of flame
Held prayers untold
In Heaven’s name
But silent now
These arches weep
In solemn vow
In hollowed sleep
The Theotokos

For I would rise
In hymn and light
To pierce the skies
And end this night

The Cure
I can't describe in words how I truly feel,
feeling like my existence is indeed a curse.
They say you, Jesus,
is the cure.
But how do I know
that this isn't just another way
to divide people?
After many go to Hell
and few go to Heaven?
Lord,
can we both go inside Hell,
living like Dante's Inferno,
except to save the damned too?
Including me?
I don't wish to believe I'm better nor worse.
I've done both.
I just want to see others truly for the magic they are
and want to finally see me
as...

Diana on Great White Throne Judgment
"Please...please, Lord. Take me to Hell. It's the only way I can be forgotten. It is better if I'm forgotten."
I can't run but I want to. I'm too weak to even stand.
"Gabriel, do not reveal the works of this blessed woman's life. She does not deserve such torment."
"But God, please! I did not serve you, I did not-"
God: "Diana, I will speak to you directly, so this is easier. Diana, you have done so many works in my name. You accepted me since you were little, and you kept seeking. You saved a frog from death from...
