best not talk about it
it’s like brexit has brought
the whole country together,
like some shameful, best not
talk about it, family secret

Speaking the Lingo
All the bits and bobs
That cross my space
The dilly dalliance sidesteps
Are the key to my truth
The wafting breeze
to decipher my thoughts
And give shape to my language
I’m well jel of your enunciation
Your cut glass echo
We are like chalk and cheese
But the similarities bubble
We have a shared culture
A lovely jubbly hotchpotch
Of history and experiences
That bind us to our motherland
and let us mooch around at leisure
Exploring our love of the slang
Our secret code for where we came from,

Singing is easy when ya drinking
This rain cares not for teardrops
Nor the blood soaked Eire of Irish rebel song(s)
White niggers
Black n tan
Slavery never left
Every race
Knows the thunders roar
Beneath the overlords lash
Ask the indentured servants
Seven year olds
Sweeping chimney
Down claustrophobic mine shaft

The 46
Siblings on the bus, a lively scene
With laughter, chatter and joyful beam.
Together as travel, side by side,
Miles apart, yet heart to heart tied.
As we look out through the window,
The world passes us by like a show,
The bustling streets, the people and cars.
Melodies of life float in like stars.
With laughter, chatter and joyful beam.
Together as travel, side by side,
Miles apart, yet heart to heart tied.
As we look out through the window,
The world passes us by like a show,
The bustling streets, the people and cars.

The Demise Of Delgado
He was a talented actor who died fifty years ago.
He was British and his name was Roger Delgado.
He starred in eight episodes of Doctor Who as The Master.
He was an evil Time Lord and on one episode, he pretended to be a Pastor.
His life ended fifty years ago today at the age of fifty-five.
His role as The Master ended because he didn't survive.
When he perished, it was something that certainly wasn't foreseen.
He died because the car he was in drove off the road into a ravine.
Delgado was the original actor to portray The Master.

HRH Queen Elizabeth II
For seventy years she reigned with dignity and class—
from an era remembered by few;
for a time frame unimaginable to most of us.
Duty and commitment to her country and realms
remained uppermost in her life.
Throughout generations,
governments, prime ministers,
peacetime and war;
recessions and prosperity,
her presence was constant.
and the world seems strange without her.
Whatever your views on the Monarchy
and whether the wealthy unelected
should become Head of State
by a happy accident of birth;
now that she's gone,...

it was great, britain ..
a lucky old sod if you were born in
the nineteen fifties meant that you never had to fight in a war,
you spent your childhood in the
‘sixties and in the seventies you were still in your twenties. what more .. ?

Spring
The sky bites a chunk off the Sun,
as if it were a quince and
the juice dripped down
its beard covered chin
- it's called raindrops,
they leak into crevices,
every split on every piece
of generative earth,
where the earthworms thrive,
where the roots stretch anxious fingers
out to fetch the run off,
out to drink what's left.
The sky bites a chunk off the Sun
and so the seed 'comes the seedling
and the quince tree starts to grow.

The Late Jacqueline Hill
She starred in "Doctor Who" and "Blood Money".
She died thirty years ago today at the age of 63.
When she starred in those Doctor Who episodes, she starred with William Hartnell and Tom Baker.
She lost her battle with cancer thirty years ago today and she went to Heaven and met her maker.
She also starred in "Tales Of The Unexpected", "The Comedy Man" and "No Hiding Place".
People were sad thirty years ago because she was no longer a member of the human race.
It's always sad when such a talented person dies.
All of her fans mourned because of her demise.

On The Buses
On The Buses is a British sitcom. It is one of the very best Britcoms that has ever been made. It aired from 1969 to 1973 and seventy-four episodes were made. Three movies were also made about this show. They are titled "On The Buses", "Mutiny On The Buses" and "Holiday On The Buses". Sadly, all of the cast members of that sitcom are deceased.
Reg Varney starred as Stan Butler. He died on November 16, 2008 after having a chest infection. He was ninety-two years old. Varney was in his fifties when he started starring in "On The Buses", but he wore make-up to make him look like he...

Bernard's Birthday
You were a talented British actor but sadly, not anymore.
If you hadn't died, today you would've turned ninety-four.
You starred in an episode of "Fawlty Towers" and "Dalziel and Pascoe".
Forty-four years ago, you starred in "The Adventures Of Picasso".
You starred in an episode of "Last Of The Summer Wine".
You starred in an episode of "Mogul" and "Space: 1999".
You starred in a short lived British sitcom titled "Cuffy".
After living a long life, you died at the age of ninety-three.
