Dear "______",
We're going to be okay.
But just in case,
I wrote you this note.
When I'm quiet, it's not to shun you,
I'm just at that place in my head.
I'm not even sure that it's within my brain.
It has it's own space, muffling my ears
and glazing my eyes
-It's all reversed, to outside in.
So I go deaf and blind, to many things,
but it's only temporary.
Doctors try to label it,
but I won't sit my ass in their box.
It's too small.
They can't even see the expanse
of all of my thoughts,...

Emotion races through my heart
And drives me crazy
For what direction should I turn
In this ocean of possibilities
And when my mind gets turned around
Something comes over me
What else can you say
When confusion rules your day
And all that we ever know

Echoes Arising From Deep Within This Autistic Canyon Of Self
I speak with a mouth
Full of stars
The language of the universe
Dripping down my chin
I dream with a head
Full of spring
Myriad flowers
Bursting
Butterfly wings
Flapping
The crush of life
Building a wall around my head
That soon comes crumbling down
I hope with the soft edges
Of the Moon
Hidden in the dark corners
Where fear takes over a wandering mind
For we must be loved like a newborn
Helplessly spinning in the naked sky
Cool wind of night ...

spoiling

inert tarn
An inert tarn
In the pond of pleasant memories, a duckling paddled
like an unwanted thought of a spring wedding in Brussel.
Flat stones skipped on the pond in the night, quacked
refused to spit out half-chewed toothpicks forgotten.
Expel the duck and send it abroad to the Saragossa Sea
to a shadowy barren island in the stream
where the monster Amnesia lives; you must be warned
keep away if the ogre gets hold of you, it will not eat
the unwanted, but also the memory of those you loved.

Indicator Spieces
check the meaning
of my distress
i'm an indicator spieces
not naturally
conditioned
to change
if you see
the not so
subtle signs
of how my
eco system is
adversely affected
out here
on my own
with the darkness
what you can't see
will not harm you
isn't ignorance bliss
it is so easy
not to register
when i'm just a number
numbers can be
miscalculated
erased

Brilliant Blue In A Sea Of White
smells. tastes feels like it
for one of a better word
using solutions to promote
this narrative undermine inclusion
it's our safety and yours
no matter how the feeling comes across
EXCLUSION sounds louder in silence
unnoticed insignificant ant
being stepped on
majority still rules
lip service paid without thought
or any true understanding
regretfully ignorance writes policy
underlines shameful attitudes
ingrained learned experiences
known labels laughable supposed facts
pushing equality...

Autistic and Stupid
That's what you say I am
As if I was never meant to be more than I am.
I am bottom of the ladder falling apart
Last place trophy doomed from the start
Unable to find a place in your world because you say I am
Autistic and Stupid
That's all I'm ever going to be
My mother told me and I'd be doomed to be
Autistic and Stupid
My teacher once kicked me out of class
I had no place among the other students
They said I was gifted
But without a bright mind
Couldn't communicate so I couldn't...
