Brain,
stop thinking
stop over analyzing
stop hurting
stop self destructing
You had no control
let go
take it as a lesson
you learned something
don't give in so easy
don't give up
have hope
but don't let them have you
have yourself
have your friends
have your joy
have your hobbies
don't give it all away
or they will break you
when they walk away
find someone who cares
and if they don't
who cares
you're beautiful
you're smart
you're kind
there is someone who will want your kind
and cherish you
as you do them
be a kind soul
be a friend
be yourself
don't worry what others minds decide
have faith
have pride
love yourself

Mind if I print this and tape it over the mirror where the daughters tend to congregrate? Or maybe whisper it into a recorder to play overnight so it seeps into their thoughts as they sleep?

This so beautiful, i teared up reading it. I can definitely relate. We really beat ourselves up and let everything we've worked so hard for slip away because something bad happens. Truly tragic. At least you were able to stay positive and remind yourself of everything good! Anyways, well written. Great job! and also welcome to DUP

Thank you both so much.I'm still struggling, but writing definitely helps. I like to write these kind of poems to help myself and others feel better in times of trouble. I think it is important to accept your problems but also realize the future can withhold great opportunities and possibilities. We can survive almost any problem in life. Every tragic event can teach you a lesson and with those lessons you can choose to make better decisions for yourself and build yourself a better future.
