A Portrait of My Muse
A brush with Death though we paint separate pictures
His, a sudden serenity, and mine is always yours
The Maestro preens his wings
With a cold, methodical plan
How to enlist Death's services is the only answer he'll demand
But a weakness is shown when that blade is delayed
By an organ that plays the emotion that stayed
- for Emily Ellen English -
