The Definition of Beauty
Dare I attempt to define thy beauty?
Would words suffice for such a task?
For should I falter in my duty
Of no forgiveness would I ask…
It is the haunting of your eyes that plagues me.
It is the silenced scream of my desire.
It is the agonising splendour of your air
That sears my soul like windswept fire.
If all the stars should fall from grace
And set alight the skies above,
I would not heed the garish sight,
For they are yours, these eyes of love.
These eyes of love, were forged for thee,
To see through timeless endless space,
The paragon of all my dreams,
That is the timeless beauty of your face.
And when I pass beyond the veil
To lands apart as all men do,
I’d gladly die a thousand deaths
To live one single life with you.
Would words suffice for such a task?
For should I falter in my duty
Of no forgiveness would I ask…
It is the haunting of your eyes that plagues me.
It is the silenced scream of my desire.
It is the agonising splendour of your air
That sears my soul like windswept fire.
If all the stars should fall from grace
And set alight the skies above,
I would not heed the garish sight,
For they are yours, these eyes of love.
These eyes of love, were forged for thee,
To see through timeless endless space,
The paragon of all my dreams,
That is the timeless beauty of your face.
And when I pass beyond the veil
To lands apart as all men do,
I’d gladly die a thousand deaths
To live one single life with you.
