Love Truly
Love is an illusion.
True love even more delusion.
A mirage of desperate hope.
Built on shifting sand in misty dreams.
Pledged to a thing called human,
we really neither know nor understand.
A pledge burdened and conditioned,
in ways explicit, implicit, sometimes illicit.
And it is the not yet revealed, known, understood or accepted that dooms love.
Before its inception.
Before time itself.
Still we fight for it.
Risk our lives for it.
For what? … is it?
But the bondage of our flawed or incomplete...

I REMEMBER
That night.
We were in love and lust.
Fireworks exploding in our souls.
Somehow courage found me,
and at your door I reappeared.
I remember your eyes.
Embracing me.
Tasting me.
I remember your panties wet against me,
the passion in our breath,
the wanting in our chests.
You electrified my body.
The current hot and exhausting.
You left me weak, empty, fueled and full.
I remember.
I will never forget.
We were in love and lust.

Just Go
If i didn’t have to pay to leave, would I still be here?
If it weren’t for the presence of the kids, would I hold this space dear?
The reality is our love’s pilot light no longer sparks.
We just sit and languish in this cold, lonely dark.
Clinging desperately to I’m not sure what.
In marital union well beyond the proverbial rut.
Do you not see we are hopelessly broken?
You can’t understand why I feel just a token.
And you say you simply crave my brother-like affection.
But then that rarely goes my love language direction.

I betrayed our hearts from lack of courage.
Perhaps our love was not meant to be officially spoken.

I could say I love you,
but it would be a lie.
I may want you, even need you,
but need more to stay free of you.
Whatever this is, it won’t last.
Maybe til the morning.
In the meantime, I do lust you,
and will show deepest adoration.
As the cocktails run their course,
we slither in the haze.

THE REVELATION OF NICOLE
I am an angel fighting devils.
Tender goodness soaked in sin.
Deceit gestates in a broken soul,
from the hope of passion lost.
Selfishness bred of loneliness,
infecting righteousness with malintent.
The pain inflicted justified by the salve.
But there is no truth in dishonesty,
and no air for love to breathe without truth.
So felled by the hope in her smile,
I lie now broken.
The depth of my descent revealed.

Please open your pretty fucking mouth.
Let something deep and real drip out.
Utter a thing more than the usual trifle.
Though the words too need not be a rifle.
Simply, to start, try a temperate truth.
There’s no need to raze the goddamn roof.
Let me just glimpse what goes on inside.
Reveal some glimmer of what the smiles hide.
No one is only all pure love and light.

Alone in thorny rain.
Constant pelting pain.

We die a life devoid of third dimension.
Love's angry dialects spoken sans convention.

She pricks me,
and ticks me,
and deflated dicks me.
Says she adores me,
but ignores me,
certain she really abhors me.
She trashes me,
and lashes me,
with bottled anger thrashes me.
She doesn't get me,
but won't quite me,
seems forever she'll resent me.
She sucks me,
then chucks me,
