A spout of realism.

It was the way she latched
herself to his arm
and kissed his unblemished cheek
when he smiled
Or the way
his unbroken hands of affection
clasped the summit of her shoulders
like a cliff face
while he slyly hints
a wink of carnal electricity to her
in mid conversation,
tracing the map of his love
on her thighs
while she spoke broken syllables
as her gaze always wandered.
The suddenness of eyes brightening
as he whispered soul down
her neck,
thats when it hit me

she wasn't coming back.
