SUCCUBUS
(Inspired by words and accompanying picture - hence description below - of Strider's poem "A Dream to Sleep".)
She comes in a veil (not that of a bride)
To lure the sleepy-headed man inside
Her curvaceous form, devoid of raiment,
Available for his entertainment.
She gestures with ever-welcoming arms
And bids him enjoy her succulent charms.
But, through the otherwise revealing lace
The beholder cannot see her real face,
Almost a void, as dark as Death itself.
She’s certainly no angel of good health,
For this faux woman is not one of us:
She is the deadly spirit SUCCUBUS.
She comes in a veil (not that of a bride)
To lure the sleepy-headed man inside
Her curvaceous form, devoid of raiment,
Available for his entertainment.
She gestures with ever-welcoming arms
And bids him enjoy her succulent charms.

The beholder cannot see her real face,
Almost a void, as dark as Death itself.
She’s certainly no angel of good health,
For this faux woman is not one of us:
She is the deadly spirit SUCCUBUS.
