soon enough
maybe if my arms were longer
i could touch you still
maybe if i was taller
i could see the heights you aspire to
if i had a bit more reservation
possibly i would mean what i say
until we conquer uncertainty
we eat ourselves alive
until i can set aside
all the breakneck speeds
at which you spin humility into condescension
we will always die
the planets align
and on that day i'm sure moms will cry
dad's drinking, so am i
watching a child burn alive
serves me with
some sort of comfort
not quite sure why
the road to hell
has got a star with my name on it
i'll hold the door to the funeral home
open for you
who said chivalry is dead?
i could touch you still
maybe if i was taller
i could see the heights you aspire to
if i had a bit more reservation
possibly i would mean what i say
until we conquer uncertainty
we eat ourselves alive
until i can set aside
all the breakneck speeds
